Well, happy Autumn! I'm not sure that I'm ready for fall weather, though. Summer was unusually cool and dry here in Maryland, so I don't have the usual motivation for the season change.

It's not weigh-in day for me, but I wanted to start the thread so I can send a shout out to Lois. I've been thinking about you, and I hope everything went well on Friday and that you're on the mend.

We had a busy weekend. We went downtown to swap out tickets we had for a National's game that was rained out. We also went to the pool both days. The temps were in the 80s, and although it was a bit cool when we first got out of the pool because of there was a pretty stiff breeze, the water is heated, so that part was delightful. The pool closes this coming Sunday, which really signals fall for us.

I've been battling poor eating habits because I've put other things before food shopping and cooking. Work stays busy, we've had some work going on in the house, and we've had community meetings to attend. (Still fighting a major highway through some of our wetlands and park land.) I'm not looking forward to the scale tomorrow, but know that staying aware and accountable is key.

Have a good day, everyone.

and that was with the splint on!! I'll take it. I had two families break my food delivery moratorium. one was so not on my plan - and i did not eat it. the second was on plan, so it was enjoyed. I actually prepared too much food ahead of time, but my son took some home - that helped. Glad I was prepared.

defrosting chicken tonight for hubby to grill and hes picking up fresh salad. still on track

surgery went well. hurts a bit more than i had hoped, but its manageable. I am not doing ANY exercising resting sleeping and a part day at work today is about what I am managing. On the six week road to recovery!!

    hard to type one handed.

    Sarah - prioritize YOU!!

Sheesh - get back on track! looking forward to reading your updates.

When I did something good, my used to say "I'll give you a button!" I don't know what that meant, or even if really meant anything other than "good for you!" But since I made to the thread on my actually weigh-in day, my first thought was that I should get a button!

The realist in me knows that although my weight today is less than last week, it's a little more than two weeks ago, and it's still in the 3-4 pound area that can't seem to escape. My intentions to walk 5 minutes each hour is not working out very well because I get involved with work, or I think of something else that seems to need priority and---- Well, let's just say, I haven't made a lot of progress there. I hope to be able to report next week that on at least several work days, I was able to do that, or at least do that a majority of the hours of the day.

Glad to hear that your surgery went well, Lois.

I just wanted to jump on here to wish Sheesh a happy 62nd birthday on Saturday. I'll be thinking about you, and I hope you have some fun plans to celebrate. We're going to the same age again, my friend!

Happy Birthday Sheesh!!! Hoping you have a great day and may all of your wishes come true!!

Sat is also my 28th wedding anniversary!! And, tonight a bunch of co workers are headed to see Thunder Down Under - I'll be there if I can get a nap in this afternoon,,,hahaha

I had to jump on as Friday is my weigh day with my diet coach - 180.4!! Hopefully I can keep myself on track for next week and hit 179!!

Recovery is progressing, just exhausted after working...so no worries on pushing my wrust too hard. I go home and sleep.

Splint comes off on Wed afternoon, so hopefully only a few days more of one handed typing.

    Have a great weekend

    Happy birthday Sheesh :)
Happy anniversary Lois :) Have fun with your friends this evening and good to hear you're healing well and getting the brace off soon.

    Hello to you, Sarah...

Sorry to have been missing for so long and not to be able to give a more definite "I'm back" post but it's been a really tough year both at home and at work. I've been doing what I can to keep myself afloat but I am under more than on top of things it seems. Things really are no better on either front than they were a year ago, which makes life pretty tough. Lack of sleep and lack of time means very poor exercise habits and I've learned eating smart just isn't enough for me. I have gained on the average of one pound a month for the last 9 months and will NOT let myself get back to my original start weight. So, I am trying to do what I can to make sure I get the exercise in again, even if it means going to bed at 8p in order to get up and do exercise before work. I am challenging myself to lose 20 lbs in 20 weeks and we'll see how that goes. The first week went well and then I did something to injure my knee while at work (have no idea what I did but the knee cap swelled up as if I had a lemon on top of it) It isn't painful so after wrapping, icing, elevating and resting I am back to my intended exercise routine.

restart weight 188.8 / 9-12-14, restart of the Biggest Loser :)
    last week =187.6
this week= 187.2 (but that is with only partial exercise because of the knee) Hopefully next week will be better. I hate that I put the weight back on and I hate that I really still lack motivation. Lois, your little notes from time to time at fitbit have meant a LOT. Thanks for being there and reaching out like that.

Thank you all for the Birthday wishes! Hubby and I went to Nevada (Wendover, which is just over the border of Utah) to celebrate, golf and gamble. Of course, that included eating and drinking. :drinker: I feel really chubby today! I don't even dare get on the scale. I'm back on track today . . . heading to the dreadmill now. I'm feeling more determined. I think I just had to get past the birthday, ha ha ha!!

    And Happy Anniversary Lois!

Light, I'm so happy to see you back here!! I've missed you. Know that you're missed and thought of often by your "eFriends" here! I truly hope things in your life get easier soon. I send you my positive and warm thoughts. :flowerforyou:

Lois, great job keeping on track, even through surgery! You're awesome, and such an inspiration. . thanks for your encouragement

I also wanted to say "hey" to fellow 62 year old Sarah! We are the same age, similar weight, and have so much in common. Let's get refocused and do this thing! My goal is still to get back to between 120 -125 lbs. Let's set a goal and encourage each other!
