I'm 1957HudaC. I was excited to see this group; I'm hoping for some solid support from others in the same stage of life. I am 56 (soon 57).
A couple of years ago, I started following a low-fat vegan diet and sucessfully lost more than 40 pounds. The weight maintained very well until my world kind of fell apart. I have major depression and am still trying to get meds straight. One particular drug I was taking "helped" me gain almost 50 pounds. I am SO DEPRESSED about this, and am trying desperately to get my head straight so I can stay true to the kinds of foods I know will cause success. My downfall is I am a sugar/fat-aholic. Looking forward to meeting some of you and wishing success to all of us. I hope I don't whine too much. By the way, I am post-menapausal for about 4 years.

Welcome to the group! I'm also a sugar/ fat aholic. The only thing that works for me is "Eat less, move more". It's all about the calories. I've been able to lose over 65 lbs and have kept it off for almost a year.

What was the medicine? I hope I haven't been put on it! I am really struggling since I have hit menopause. I've gained 20 lbs in the last year no matter how much I exercise and I've been tracking calories...just doesn't seem to work anymore.0
