T3 Liothyronine success?

My doctor has decided to add liothyronine (T3) to my levothyroxine.

Does anyone have any good experiences with this? Especially with weight loss?

So excited to start tomorrow and would love to hear your successes.

I started on a very low dose of Cytomel about 5 weeks ago, and while I have not lost any weight yet, I do feel like I'm functioning better overall. Tomorrow, I go for a follow-up, and I think we're going to try me on Nature-Throid which is a Natural dessicated thyroid medication. We wanted to see how I'd adjust to having T3 in my system and since I did well, I am really excited to give this natural stuff a try.
I was diagnosed in 2002 and my weight has bounced around a bit, and recently increased by about 20lbs since a year ago, so I need to start taking control of this situation. I've heard that a lot of people do lose weight after starting on the natural medication, but you do need to change eating habits as well. I have started eliminating gluten, so I really hope that will help.

    Good luck!

I am pleased to see you are having additional medication. I hope it will not be too long before you really start to feel well and are able to eat properly.

I am so very sorry you have had to come up against the UK system. Take care

I take cytomel in A.M. and then again about 1 P.M. Other wise I sleep away the afternoon and drag around. It works wonders. Weight loss, well I'm not sure it made a great difference, but I have not gained and I have lost a few pounds, but not a lot. I feel better emotionally with the T3 and T4 being replaced. When I feel better I eat less.
