Lets make a pledge to abstain from compulsively overeating (or binging/purging) for the next 24 hours. We can do this one day at a time!

This was actually a large topic in last week's meeting for me. I was given a "one day at a time" coin. I tend to screw up when I think of the big picture, but figuring this out one day at a time... that's the key! Let's do this!0

I'm making a pledge today, I really need to!
Canwehugnow (love the name), great that you received a coin to always remind you that it truly is one day at a time!0 -
I don't know if I will do this forever, but I will do it again today.0

Michelle, well said, all we have is today!0

Thinking of the big picture is scary and I usually give up easier with that thinking, so today I will think about today. I really think I can do this.0

I totally agree, the same goes with weight loss for me. If I think about how many pounds I have left to lose, then I get discouraged, but a pound at a time, no problem.
You definitely CAN do this!0 -
I think I need one of those coins to remind myself because I keep worrying about the future. I've been abstinent 34 days, started a diet 30 days ago and have lost 9 pounds. I worry it's going to hit me like a train when I break from abstinence and when it will happen. I know I shouldn't but this is always in the back of my mind. I do tell myself that every morning. One day at a time.0

Mommicita, congrats on the weight loss! Just try not to think ahead and focus on what's right in front of you. Some days, I take it one minute at a time, whatever it takes!0
