Some days NOTHING sounds good. But I can't go without eating. I'm one of those who gets queasy if I skip meals.
Some days I stare at my lunch and it doesn't look appealing. Then I wander around the student cafeteria/market looking for something that isn't nachos that looks good.
Today was one of those days.
In the end, I found a Muscle Milk PRO SERIES.
Not horrible. And worked in the moment.
Anyway. The old muscle milk had a ton of sugar and carbs. The Pro series has 9 grams of carbs, 2 fiber, 2 sugars. (40 protein, but only 3 fat).
Not ideal. But all I could choke down.

I had the pure protein shake.. mainly due to no time for lunch.. it was pretty much meh0

Smoothies are good at these times I find, as sometimes, usually just for a meal, nothing excites me too much, so I chuck some yoghurt, berries, banana, nuts and seeds into the blender and drink when smooth. On days where my protein may be a little low, I will now throw some protein powder into the blender with it too :-)
Oh, if you're at home, a jar of bircher muesli can be a good thing to have on hand for such times also. 2- 4 tbsp oats, same amount of mixed milk and water, 1/2 tbsp chia seeds, some yoghurt, and some berries, make a nice and simple breakfast or substantial enough snack. A few flaked almonds over the top, or some other nuts/ seeds as a topper, can bulk it up a little too. A small grated apple works quite well in place of the berries also.0 -

Do you find certain foods become unappealing faster than others? For example, I can eat beef every day and not get sick of it. Chicken....not so much. It makes me want to barf if I try to eat it 2 days in a row.0 -

It's just been lunches lately. There's not a lot of healthy food at work, and for whatever reason, my salads are boring. Gotta make a big change. Spice things up! Literally and figuratively.

I love smoothies! Alas I was stuck at work. I almost made a smoothie for breakfast.... went with full fat yogurt, a scoop of coconut oil, some seeds, and some peanut butter (I'm weird, I know. I love yogurt and peanut butter, too.. it goes together rather well.. I add cocoa powder and a little stevis with flax seed.. one of my favorite .. shoot what should I eat treats0

Tonight's dinner: portabella crust pizzas. That oughta get my appetite back!0 -
Today was MUCH better. I had a green smoothie for breakfast (2 cups of spinach, coconut oil, flax seeds, almonds and 2 cups of water, and a ZipFizz for flavor). Put me in a great mood! Had a salad the size of my head and two hard boiled eggs for lunch.

Haha, yes smoothies are great
Peanut butter and yoghurt are good ingredients too, although never mixed them other than in a smoothie, lol. Coconut oil is a nice addition, and usually add some myself 
Was out of my usual routine yesterday, and can empathise with low intake. I think when that tends to happen with me in such times, my protein seems to take a nosedive, so must make use of some of that protein powder I have knocking around, and dabble with a few protein bar recipes..0 -
I keep quest bars and atkins bars around for desperation days (which is why I did the muscle milk pro). One (the only?) good thing about the student store/cafeteria at work is they sell little two packs of hard boiled eggs. That's always good in a pinch too. (and they give out free little dressing packs and have a few that are very low sugar. Alas their salads absolutely suck).I love smoothies! Alas I was stuck at work. Thats great! I would love if hardboiled eggs were so easily accessible here when outdoors
Bars can be very handy alright, and when I lost weight before, my go-to snack between meals was a homemade granola bar full of all sorts of wonderful and filling ingredients
I'm not one for much processed food, so must do a little bit of experimenting now with protein bars.. lol

Yes, know what you mean, sometimes I wish it was more like Germany here, where you can get somewhat healthy food on most street corners. Here it's just the usual corner shop junk food, lol.
Yeah, the homemade granola bars are nice, and if you ever want the recipe, let me know. Its a nice recipe thats oats, nuts, seeds, with some sugar and honey to sweeten slightly, and some butter to help bind it all together with the sugar and honey. Everything can be done on the hob/ stove top, popped in a tray, refrigerated until firm, and then cut into bars/ squares that happily last 7+ days
I love nuts too, and that and dark chocolate are what usually get toted in a bag with me when going anywhere. I may have to look at doing the same with some hardboiled eggs, as had not thought of that before, lol.0
