Soooo frustrating. My average burn for the past week was 1,852 calories per day and my average deficit per day was 436 calories, and yet--I gained weight, according to the scale.

SW: 155
LW: 145.2
TW: 146.4
Goal: l30 or thereabouts

I had four days where I broke a 1,900 burn, which for me, is hard given how much time I have to sit. Honestly--it makes me want to run, even though I have been warned about my retina. All I can say is, "Rats, rats, rats!!"

Hope others had a better week.

    SW: 238
    LW: 179.4
    TW 177.6

    Reduction of 1.8!!

Sorry I'm late, and happy yesterday was weigh day and not today...lol. Up a little bit, but I am honest about my Tuesday weigh. Had a hair appt late last night and we usually order dinner at my hairdresser. Her son had already ordered pizza when I got there. I limited myself to one slice and 4 boneless wings!! Sadly, she's not a healthy eater and there were no other options. Ah well.

OK.. super busy - started wrist therapy for the next couple of weeks, so looking forward to more mobility and strength.

Sarah - a calorie is not a calorie - so it's time to start looking at healthier calorie intakes. Also, have you used the alarms on your body bugg to buzz you to remind you to get up and move...even if only for two minutes....get up and walk down two houses and back. You need to get moving. Since you work from home, you can be dressed to move at any time....or get on your dreadmill. you have options and you are so capable of success. Let's get focused on it!!

Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Lois, most weeks, I'd say, you hit me where I live. :) But last week--I got the burn up to 1852/day and the steps were over 7000/day. But I did go back to look at what went into the 1416 calories/day. I remember Timdad saying that over time, if the calories in are fewer than the calories out, you will lose. But I know that things like salt intake can fool the scale. So I looked at my composition and found that, on average, I ate 1416 calories a day, of which 21% were Protein, 46% were Carbs, 33% were Fat, and 0% were Alcohol. (Those are the four main BodyMedia categories.) It also shows average intake for other things, just not the percentage, and sodium was high (2,220 mg per day). So it looks like I need to watch salt and fat and move at least as much as I did the past week if not more. I guess that will be my goal for October 15-21.

Hey all! Finally got access to the computer . . .

    SW: 156
    LW: 138
    TW: 137.5
    Goal weight: 120 - 125
    (loss of .5 lbs)

Los, another great week for you! You've got it dialed in. . . hope your wrist therapy goes well. Are you lifting weights? A sore wrist sure doesn't work well with dumbbells.

Light, you're doing so great with your work schedule and all. . hang in there.

Sarah, I think you should get your thyroid checked again. Those numbers just don't make sense . . . you aren't losing like you should be. At our age it's going to be slow going, but with an average daily deficit of 436 calories you should lose SOME weight. I hope you don't get discouraged. Looking at your percentages, the only other thing I can think of is to increase lean protein and decrease carbs a bit. ?? In the meantime . . smile, and GO GIANTS!! :) We have to enjoy our life too.

    Have a great week!

Did anyone else see this on your main board this morning?

lightinfl - lost 3 lbs since her last weigh-in! Lightinfl's lost 1.8 lbs so far.
lightinfl wow! I've never lost that much in one week before!! :o

Light - GREAT JOB!! Super proud of you!! Hang in there - you've got this!!

Sarah - This week it will be better. Stay focused.

Sheesh - Congrats on the reduction. Every 1/2 lb is a 1/2 lb GONE!!!

2nd day of therapy this morning. My wrist is improving. Out of the brace most of the day. I'm pushing to type normally and get the digits free and moving. Happy with range of motion. Still have to wear brace driving, sleeping, exercising and dressing (dang clothes are heavy to pull up and down). Otherwise doing well. Working hard to keep the number down this week...like Sarah - had a heavy salt day yesterday and boy did that scale jump this morning. And I've got a bbq event tonight with outside colleagues for a networking evening. I'm saving all of my carbs and such for tonight!!! I am not going to go overboard, but the two ladies I'm going with sure like bbq and wine (no I will not be drinking). Tomorrow is my official weigh day with my diet coach...fingers are crossed.

Sheesh - good luck for your Giants!!

LOL, Lois :) Yes, when I looked at the scale today, I got a very pleasant surprise.
Starting wt: 198 Restart wt: 188.8 LW: 185.2 TW: 182.2!!

Work has been a bear and all my spare time has been split between logging, exercising and sleeping so I can do it all over again the next day. But right now, it's not beating me.

Sarah: no running. Your sight is worth far more...
watch your salt, watch the fat, watch the activity. It will happen...

Lois: You had a good loss this week too. Probably all that stepping to try to make sure you place ABOVE me on the leader board, LOL. Glad your wrist is doing better. It's hard to work around the need for your hand sometimes. Hope you had a good time this evening.

Sheesh, congrats on your 1/2 lb too. It went in the right direction and it counts :) If you can do that once/month, you still can loose 6 lbs in a year. If you can manage 1/2 lb every other week, you'll be at goal this time next year. Looking at it that way doesn't seem so bad. Maybe slow, but it's still a downward trend.

Now, I've gotta scoot- need to get my exercise in before hopping into bed...

Sheesh - congrats on the Giant's success last night. GL in the series.

Light - I've missed you - and YES I'm doing everything I can to stay ever so SLIGHTLY ahead of you!!

My weigh in this morning was a little disappointing, expected after some of the choices I've made and attending a food function last night (ate per plan, but more sodium than normal and I'm feeling it today). That just means next week's gonna ROCK it!! My goal is 175 by Halloween right now.

Hubby and I decided to attend our friend's 50th bday party in Cali tomorrow, so we are doing a 24 hour turnaround tomorrow afternoon and returning Sunday evening. Am going to have to be really good at the party and while traveling. HOWEVER, I have a game plan for when we return. Shopping tonight for the salads (they will hold til Tuesday and i can shop again). Purchased some pre cooked meats for next week (I know I'll be too tired to cook when I get home Sunday).

Hi, Ladies. We made it to the weekend. Yah! All three of you are inspiring me with your losses.

We thought our Saturday would start with some activity. There's a juried craft fair at our fairgrounds that we love to do to, and it involves lots of walking and some stair climbing, too. But as we were drinking our coffee, hubby got a call from a older gentleman we know asking him to take him to the emergency room. He has grown children, and I think his wife still drives, so I'm not sure why he was reaching out to us--but he did, and so of course, plans had to change. This fellow has recently undergone extensive surgery for oral cancer. We visited him at the rehab last Sunday, and he went home on Tuesday, so some complication has occurred. Hopefully we can go to the craft fair later today, or we'll go tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'm taking some time to log food, check in with you, and I may take a walk up to the bank to get some cash. It's about a mile roundtrip, so just enough to get the blood circulating!

I, too, need to plan some meals, Lois. You are so good with that. I did do one good thing yesterday, eating-wise. Late last night, hubby and I were watching Top Chef, which I taped while he was way last week. I had had a light, early dinner and was truly hungry again by that time. My brain said "ice cream." My brain said "sundried tomato and basil cream cheese spread." Then my brain said "apple." And apple won. :)

sorry that your plans were changed due to a trip to the ER but so glad it wasn't for one of you :) Hope your friend will be okay and you'll make it back to the fair. Congrats on your smart choice last night... now for some planning ahead :)

I have spent a good bit of the day cooking and prepping foods for next week but really need to stop and start on some housework. I lurked over at the fitbit groups last weekend and found a posting about clean eating and I seriously think that is what was responsible for this week's great numbers. They are starting up another week if any of you are interested... done via a private group on facebook. I got such good results, I'm going for a second round. All natural foods you can find in the grocery store... and no intensive P-60 type workouts ;):)

anyways, I really, really need to get back to housework... I want tomorrow off :)

    Hi Ladies!!!

It's been a long time.. I know. I just got busy with life and kept meaning to post on the boards, but always managed to forget. It's time for me to get back at it because I miss you gals and enjoy your support. <3

Although I've been good at getting my steps in, I'm back at a weight that I'm not happy with. I'm eating WAY too much for what I'm burning and I need to focus on what I'm eating. When I'm at work, I wake up every morning at 5am to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes, but that's just not enough with the amount I'm eating. Time to step it up and maybe add some weight training. I think I'm going to make Wednesday my weigh-in days from now on and see how that works out with my schedule.

So.. with that being said.. this morning I weighed myself (I know it's not Wednesday, but I needed a starting point) and I'm at 152lbs.

Can't wait to read how you're all doing! :D

Hey Kelly!! SOOOO good to see you again! :) Life did a sucker punch to me and I laid low for a few months myself, totally understand but it is good to have you back again. I find I need a balance of both activity and diet to make this work. Hope you can find your balance and get back to where your healthy point is :)

I've had a really good week, weight loss was good and I switched my foods around a bit. Did so well, I'm going to try for a repeat. Should be easier this week since I have a better plan for prepping and cooking ahead of time. Makes all the difference for me with the long days I pull. I remember you having a pretty wicked schedule, too. Good for you to make the time to get up and do 30 minutes on that treadmill! :) We can do this!

Hi, everyone. I just logged dinner and popped over here to see if anyone had posted. Kelly, it's so good to hear from you. They admitted our friend yesterday, so hubby got home in time for us to get to the craft fair for a couple of hours, and--wait for it--we went walking last night, too. Did it around 9 p.m. and for the first time this year, I pulled out some gloves. It was nippy, but nice to smell the fall air.

Today we ran errands and slam dunked Costco. On the way home, hubby remembered that he had made plans for us to meet folks for an early dinner, and he forgot to tell me. I knew we had somewhere to be around 7, but I didn't realize that he also agreed to meet people at 5:30 at a restaurant that would take us 45 minutes to get to. We barely had time to get everything out of the car, quickly change clothes, and get out the door again. There was no time for the afternoon walk I had counted on.

We got back about 45 minutes ago and were quite alarmed to see our garage door open. It was not open when we left. In fact, our next door neighbor said that it was not open 20 minutes before we came home. We have no idea what happened. Hubby went through every nook and cranny in the house and there's no sign anyone was in here. The only thing we can think of is that someone nearby has a new garage door opener and the codes are similar enough to open ours, too. We had planned to go walking again tonight, but given this little incident, I think we'll stay in. Which means that I'll still have a small deficit, but not nearly what I had hoped.

Kelly, I'm also finding that steps alone won't cut it for me, and I know that I have to start focusing more on the quality, quantity, and timing of my food. Twice this week, I been really aware of how uncomfortable I am at my present weight. The latest was tonight when it seemed like everyone was taking pictures, and all I could think was, "Please do not post a full body shot of me on facebook!"

So let's all share what works (and what doesn't) and keep each other motivated. We can do it

Gee, Sarah, scary to come home to the open garage door :o Glad everything seemed okay, though. And there's always the treadmill on those evenings you can't get out to walk ;):)

Not much time for chatter this morning. Lunch is packed but I still need to do my exercises and don't have much time.. have a good day, all~ :)

Light - Sorry about the life sucker punches you've had to go through. Unfortunately that seems to be what life is all about. :s I've had a few of those myself.

Sarah - That's very scary! You're probably right about someone having a similar garage door opener as you. If you want to go out walking, I suppose you could just turn off or disconnect the opener and hopefully that'll ease your mind.

Thanks for the warm welcome back! I'm glad I'm back and am looking forward to the support you ladies provide. We can definitely do it!
