Hi guys! So glad to have found this group!
I initially came to MFP, because I quit smoking and don't want to balloon.
Last time, I gained weight- and stupidly started smoking again.
This group tells me that I can lose without starving!

Hi there and welcome! Yes, it's very true. EM2WL is all about creating a smaller calorie deficit to lose weight rather than overly restricting calories. Congratulations on quitting smoking! Do you know how to get started here?

Choose your correct activity level (which needs to include all your normal daily activity plus your workouts) and then choose 15% deficit for fat loss. That will give you your daily calories to aim for. It's just an estimate, but gives you a good place to start from. Choosing a 15% deficit rather than a 20 or 25% deficit allows you to eat more while still losing weight and is much more healthy for the metabolism and sustainable in the long run.
