Organic Honey - GOOD/BAD?

I made brownies with almond flour and it had 2/3cups of honey in the recipe. Is this Paleo? Or should I find a new recipe?

Everyone has a different slant on what is acceptable,it's a personal thing.
Personally,if I was trying to lose weight,I would not be eating a recipe with loads of honey and nuts..once in awhile a treat for some people is ok,for others(like me),it's not.
Berries and cream can be a good stand in if you are looking for a "treat".
As for actual honey, raw, unpasteurised is the best way to go.Many honey's from the local grocery store are cut with corn syrup.

I consider honey to be "paleo" even if it is not raw honey.0

If you're gonna eat honey, I agree with spoonful and go with the raw. The processed stuff sold at grocers remove a lot of the beneficial nutrients.0

I have honey every day. Doing great! Depends on what your goals are. If it's just to eat paleo, then like justaspoonfulofsugar said, it's a personal slant.0

Paleo substitutes are not really Paleo imo. It is not healthy or natural to eat something full of nut flour and sugar, even honey on a regular basis. Some people can enjoy more treats than others without negative effects so it's basically "do what works for you". I personally don't agree with justifying excess sweets with "but it's Paleo!". Then later it becomes "Paleo didn't work!"
However, I do consider raw honey to be Paleo but that doesn't mean anyone should consume loads of it and some of us should avoid it not because it's "bad" but because we have so much metabolic healing that needs to happen before we can tolerate sweets of any kind or amount. In our ancestral past honey would have been a rare indulgence indeed.
Whether I think anything is Paleo or not doesn't dictate what YOU choose to do or how you choose to view it. For me, Paleo substitutes are a big FAIL but I still enjoy them from time to time and pay the price. lol0 -
Everyone has their own opinion, if it's working for you do what's best for you don't let other people dictate what is good and bad to eat.0

The OP asked a question, and the natural thing to do is respond with our experience and opinions. No harm in that. When I’m on the fence about something or seeking clarification in helping me make a decision, I’m gonna ask, and appreciate ALL responses, whether I’m in agreement with them or not.0

I too am of the mindset that "Paleofying" foods will not serve you any better unless you have Celiac disease and even then, it isn't really better on many levels. It will help inflammation, but otherwise nothing. I do have Celiac and by Paleofying everything I am still making myself overindulgent in carbs, sugar and starch. Not good! Paleo and Primal should be focused on real food...plants and meats and fish, and nuts.

I think it would be fine [occassionally] for those who are maintaining, but for someone like me, fat, sick, diabetic, and a sugar addict, I have to steer clear of sweet taters, fruit, natural sugar, and higher starch veggies.
However, Paleo & PB doesn't necessarily mean low carb.0 -

Right, it doesn't men low carb but I also think that being OVER indulgent is bad because it sets up the same issues that non-Paleo carbs and sugar do. Once in a while, sure! If you can leave it at that. Perfection is not reality, we all need to indulge sometimes!0 -
Yep, I totally agree, Cindy!0
