OK...So the holiday prep and cleaning has begun and there goes my meal plan. Why? Because I failed to prepare my food for the week and in the middle of cleaning - hubby runs to KFC for chicken and slaw for me and then for dinner, pizza and wings are ordered. House is beautifully cleaned, however, my lunches were not prepared. On Friday, I actually dropped back to 177, but as you can see..it has crept back up...again. No...I'm not throwing in the towel, however, I need to get meals figured out that fit within my plan for the next two days. And dinner Wed night when everyone arrives is Filipino/Mexican (siao pao (sho pow - steamed bun with meat mixture) empanadas (fried meat pastries) and tamales (steamed meat mixture in maza)). Oh Lordy.
I was so impressed by everyone's participation on the board last week. let's not lose sight of our goals during the holidays.
Oh...Rugged Maniac - WAS A BLAST!! No injuries (hubby's knees got a bit scraped on the warped wall where he slid from the top all the way back down and off the obstacle and continued to slide on the dirt/rock (ouch) the collective ooooohhhhh was pretty funny). I'll post pics on FB when they become available. I only have the post race clean ones on my phone.

You are not alone out there, Lois. I got up very early this morning to go grocery shopping before work. Between the holiday and the snow falling here today, things are pretty chaotic. I dressed so fast this morning, I didn't think to weigh, and it was such a busy day, I haven't had a chance to take off the heavy clothes and get on the scale. I will try to post again tomorrow morning. Now, I have to run to start on a pie! Thanks for starting the thread, and enjoy the siao pao and tamales tonight!

Work has been pretty tough this week, allowing little time at home but what else is new? I had to get my oil changed and tires rotated on the way home and had not prepared anything for supper in the lunchbox, leading me to choose between Kentucky Fried, Taco Bell and Dunkin Donuts... so I chose Kentucky Fried but the carbs and salt is going to kill me on the scales tomorrow. Uggh. We have a pot luck Thanksgiving at the church tomorrow and I've gone over and over in my mind what the options are going to be and what I will be eating. I'm planning to bring some salad and vinaigrette so that I can put my turkey on that instead of on dressing/potatoes/rice, etc. I'm planning to bring several roasted veggies as well. But for now, I need to leave my statistics and go do my exercise bike to work off some of my supper

SW=198 lbs
LW= 177 lbs
TW= 176 lbs
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving everyone...0 -
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. It's closing in on 11 p.m. here. We just got in. We cooked like mad all morning, drove to our friends' home this afternoon and had dinner there this evening, then dropped back by church. I thought earlier today that I might go out to the mall to walk tonight, since it will be open late--but honestly, I'm just too beat. I have to work tomorrow, and morning will come quickly. For the next few days, I need to increase that deficit to make up for today!0

Hi Ladies
I did weigh in this week, just haven't had a chance to post it until now. Obviously I wasn't too eager to post it either
Although I'm not American, I'm going to blame your Thanksgiving for the weight gain .. just cause. I know what's doing it.. it's the fact that I just can't seem to find the will power to say NO when something delicious looking is offered to me. I'm still working out.. it's just the darn food. I'll get there eventually.
I hope all is well with everyone. Happy Thanksgiving to you all

TW: 146.6 (The "T" this time stands for Thursday. Wednesday (my usual weigh-in day) was a whirlwind and I didn't get out the jeans, heavy socks, sweater, etc. until bedtime.)
Two things I have to do soon: upload a photo so I don't look like an alien, and maybe even get a non-work Facebook page so I can see Lois' pictures. I know you're not supposed to do this, but when I was forced to have a Facebook page several years ago so I could be an administrator for my agency's Facebook page, a coworker made me "fake" page. We had a privacy mishap with another staff member who was named an administrator that made us very cautious. I think now people are more attuned to the privacy settings, but at the time...
Light, I am going to try watching carbs between yesterday and my next weigh-in on Wednesday just to see what happens. Since my reasons for frequently eating vegetarian do not include believing that people should not eat meat at all (I do have friends who are vegetarian or vegan for morale reasons), I'm trying to tamper that natural resistance to change. Yesterday, I made a real effort to keep the carbs down, although I haven't yet entered dinner and my bedtime milk, so I'm not sure of the count yet.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. Hubby is at his friend's farm today, so I have the house to myself and no one else's schedule to consider. I'm hoping to get in a little extra activity, plus catch up on some housework and work-work.0 -
that's such a tiny difference, Kelly, that it could just be a little retained fluid and will probably be gone tomorrow. Now the extra food, well... I can't say a thing as I have that same issue and will be facing many hard decisions over the next several weeks. We've gotta stay strong... either turn the food away or eat it and work it off.
Missed you on the leader board lately- figured you just hadn't logged in as your steps had really dropped down. You are such an inspiration

Ya..I know Light. I find it difficult when I get home to get my steps in. When I'm on my week on for work, I find it easier to get my steps. I walk to and from work 4 times a day, plus I got to the gym. At home, I don't have a treadmill in my gym and I find it difficult to walk outside. I guess I just have to suck it up and get moving. I'm thinking of joining a gym.. just to use the treadmill.0

I totally understand. There's very little time between getting home and going to bed for me and I'm so tired by then that stepping is the last thing I want to do. I don't have a treadmill so I'll often do my steps to Leslie Sansone's DVD. The time goes by quickly, it's a brisk "walk in place" in my living room and I don't have to worry over going out or stopping by the gym on the way home and getting home later than I already do.0

Good Morning

So, I've decided to try something new and start using a personal trainer. It's not your typical one and I'm still trying to figure out how it works, but basically I pay her to make me a meal plan for the week I'm at home and another one for the week I'm at work. She'll also make me a workout plan for those two weeks as well. It sounds like it'll be for 6-8 weeks, with me checking in every 2 weeks and then after that she'll make me new plans to change things up. I'm excited to try this! Pricing wasn't too bad... $75 for each plan and then $70 for each plan after the 6-8 weeks and everything is individualized to my needs.
I'm waiting for her to send me my questionnaire and then once she has it back, she'll make me my plans. I'm looking forward to seeing what they look like. I'm a bit worried about what it's going to be like during the holidays, but there's no point putting this off and waiting until after. I'll do my best to stick with it!
I hope everyone else is doing well. I see I'm back on the top of the leader board for steps... come on ladies! Step it up

Hi, Ladies,
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Kelly, I think trying something new is a great idea. even if this turns out be something you don't want to do long term, we gain knowledge from every experience. The old saying "if nothing changes, nothing changes" is so true. I'm still trying to pare down the number of carbs I'm eating, and I'm doing my best to make sure that my weekly average deficit is higher than the 425 I've had for some time and just maintained on. Thanksgiving threw me a curve this week, but for the past three days, I've averaged an 800 calorie deficit. Yesterday was lovely here, so I not only got a chance to take a long, hilly walk, but I also did yard work. Today, it's still mild, but tomorrow winter comes back with sleet and rain. Yuck!!
Now I need to start focusing on how I'll handle this coming weekend when my activity will be affected by other people who have physical limitations and will include a lot of car time and eating out.0 -
WOW .... off the board for a few days and I've missed sooo much!!
Thanksgiving was a whirlwind of food. From Friday to today, I'm up about 6 lbs. I know some of it's from sodium, but the rest....hhhmmmm. While my portions were small, there were plenty to choose from and I had challenges choosing, so I had a 1/4 cup of pretty much everything. And, if you're on my FB page, you saw several pics of the LEFTOVERS!! Thursday morning, after putting Tom Turkey in the oven, I went for a hike (son and sister joined me, so it wasn't as far nor as intense as normal, but fun). Friday morning we did a workout at the Taekwondo school. Saturday morning I snuck out to hike again, but when I got downstairs, my sister was dressed to join me again and so it wasn't as far or as calorie burning. Everyone left yesterday so we spent the morning together gathering everyone's stuff and saying goodbye.
With the chaos of the weekeend, I did not get out and get my normal shopping completed, nor did I grill anything for lunch. I have a healthy lunch planned to pick up at chipotle (within my meal plan) and will shop after my workout tonight. I had a premade beef brisket in the fridge, however, I failed to notice the use by/freeze by date of 11/25. Nope. not taking a chance so I have a game plan.
Kelly - I was working at staying ahead of you....dang it!! The trainer plan is this an internet connection or do you meet face to face? Will train with you or just give you an exercise plan? Sounds interesting. Keep us posted.
Light - Hoping you're feeling better and had better success at the holiday food choices than I did.
I'll be checking in tomorrow with my stats - as ugly as they are going to be... With the holiday I told my diet coach I wouldn't be checking in until Tuesday and I'll be back on plan on Monday. I'm thinking that wasn't so smart...hahah. Hindsight - 20/20. I start reporting my food again tomorrow...so back on track we are!0
