December already!!!
Ok folks, how's it going? What are your goals this week??
I noticed last week's thread did not move very far....I am hoping that was because of Thanksgiving and this week shows more participation again.
I bought a fitbit flex on Black Friday.....it is so neat! It tells me how many steps I take in the day, how many very active minutes I had, how long I slept, how long it took me to fall asleep and how many times I woke up in the night! Best of all, it syncs right up with MFP here.
Ok, for many times in a row, but this is the week, my main goal is to get back to the gym! I also have the goal to keep logging, and limiting junk to once or twice per week instead of nightly...I have been doing pretty good on the last two for the last week or so....

My goal this week is to go to the gym 5 days this week before I go to work. I also want to work on my calorie intake this week. Last week I went over several days.0

That is a great goal Michelle....what time do you have to get up in the morning to do that?0

I'm so glad you got a FitBit! I can't wait for the Surge to come out. I am so interested to see how the heart rate monitor and GPS works. I always forget to put on my heart rate monitor on, so it'll be nice to have it all in one. For now, I love my trusty little Zip.
I don't have any major goals this week. Skittles2183 started a great thread on December challenges. My challenge this month is to not eat out. It amazes me how much I used to spend on food. Initially, spending so much time in the kitchen felt like a chore. Planning, cutting veggies, cooking, cleaning -- but now it's my time just for me. I listen to music, experiment with new foods, learn different recipes. So I want to make this month about food and learning to cook more deliciousness.0 -
My goal for this week it to get back on track with staying under my calorie goal. I set my goal for -1 lb. / week with the intention of actually eating a little less. But for last couple days, I have been right up to my goal.0

The new fitbit has a gps? In case you get lost or what lol
Do you log your exercise here even though it adjusts your calories for you??
It is pretty amazing how much can be spent on eating out....sometimes I spend very little in a few weeks and then all of a sudden you have a busy week or something and you spend $100 or more in two days!! I love listening to music when I cook, singing along, just dancing around the kitchen, all by myself!
shballa - welcome! good job staying with that goal! Check in and let us know how you are doing!!0 -
I'm training for a marathon and tracking my progress on Strava, an app that uses GPS to let me know my mile time. I also have the ability to create routes. If fitbit has the ability to do this, then that's all I need to use. It'll be nice having just one program that tracks everything for me.
I don't log my calories burned on here since fitbit already tracks everything. I will say that the fitbit tends to overestimate calories burned, which is why I'm excited to see the heart rate models come out.0 -
Yeah, I was wondering that....On Saturday, which was my first full day wearing it, I worked all day and then went out shopping, so I hit the 10,000 step mark and it said I earned over 1,200 extra calories....I thought that was high....I am not eating back exercise calories anyway, but I have to be careful now to pay attention that I do not go over since it changes my numbers.

I made it to the gym today0

Congrats! I know how good that feels. I went to Zumba for the first time in 2 months last night. I need to think about this week's goals.0

That is awesome jitheis! I have never done Zumba but it looks fun, I do not think I would be able to keep up.0

I am feeling pretty great this week, I am hoping I am finally back in the swing of things! I managed to get in over 10,000 steps yesterday, as well as the gym for weight lifting....
I am slightly worried that my daughter coming home for Christmas break will cause me stress and through me off.....hopefully it does not, and if it does, it is short lived and once she leaves I will be good to go again.....I hear things with daughters get better when they get older but I have a hard time seeing that far ahead when she is around

That's great, Unknown!
Today, I photographed an event for work and was on my feet for most of the day. At the end, I was so exhausted but still managed to walk two miles home. Very proud of myself. I have to be up early tomorrow for day two of the event. I'm going to wear a dress I couldn't fit into a couple months ago! It's green and lace, and I've wanted to wear it for the longest time.
There were a lot of cookies and sweets at the event, but I stuck with a salad and a cookie. Though I broke my monthly challenge, I'm still going to continue with trying not to eat out. I'm very glad I'm not letting the stress of work get to me. I usually eat like crazy during events.0 -
@Unknown_sister, congrats on getting to the gym. I made it to Curves again today and feel so much better.
@jocoblossoming, if you figure out how to not stress eat at work, share the insight. I caught myself three times today seeking out unhealthy foods because I was feeling stress. I chose to deal directly with them but still feeling like getting a "false fix" would be easier. Rock that NSV dress tomorrow!
My goal this week is to get to Curves 3 times, tell people no at work when they approach me wanting me to take on their stressful situations (cause really I have enough of my own going on), and to drink more water.0 -
jocoblossoming, awesome NSV.....I bet you look great in that dress! Great job not digging in at work lol
Social situations are a huge trigger for me usually....My best girlfriend and I would have parties a few times a year, where it was basically just 12 hours straight of just eating and playing cards. I would literally eat so much every time I would barely be able to walk up my stairs at home. Sadly, she passed away over a year and a half ago. I miss her terribly everyday. I have not had a card party (or even played cards) since. What I do know, is that if I choose to ever do that again, I have to make it not about food so much.
I am going to head out to the gym this afternoon. And then my goal is to go again on Saturday since this is my Saturday off work. Last night I feel off the wagon slightly with food.....it was not the worse I have done, but far from the best. I was less than 100 steps away from 10,000 steps again though, so take some as wins and write off the rest, lol.
jitheis - it is so important to tell people no when you are overwhelmed, I learned that a long time ago....they may not like it, but it is so important for your own health! Good job making that a priority! Glad you got to Curves.....that is an all female place, right? I use the YMCA.0 -
Made it to the gym again today0
-
I love seeing 10,000 on my pedometer...it's like this magical number for me. I already have Curves scheduled in my calendar tomorrow between work and going to a play with a group of friends. Going to skip the annual holiday party...I don't drink and the food is not healthy (it's at a bar). I know that the play is the healthier option.0
-
3 curves workouts done, ok with water intake, not so good on the "no". Maybe I need to think of it as "NO!"0
-
I drink so much water, way over....I am diabetic so I do get dry mouth a lot.....I have friends that drink next to nothing and I am always amazed lol0

Just got over the flu...or bronchitis...or pneumonia... lord knows what it was cuz the ER doc wouldn't do a chest xray =/ But I was severely sick (fever 103.5 for several days) and weak for almost two weeks. So tomorrow will be my first day back in the gym since then.0
