FINALLY back to my pre turkey day weight!!!! Though I have been sick for the past week fighting what I thought was allergies, it turned into an infection and I started antibiotics last night. Spent the day in/out of bed today and just starting to feel a bit better! Back to work tomorrow and we have our company Christmas party. Fortunately, the owners of my company are very health conscious so we should have some great options for me (especially since the zinc I've been taking for my coughing makes everything taste yucky).

Anyhow, just want to be sure everyone is staying on track.

Sheesh - hoping everything is improving with your family and your daughter is feeling better.

Kelly - your steps are looking great!!! How are you doing

Sarah - I hope that you are feeling good with the walking and adding the weights. If you're having shoulder discomfort, discontinue. But there are other exercises to do that will improve your shoulder as well. I still believe that you will see some great changes once you incorporate some weight training.

Light - you're ahead of me on steps. Watch out girl - I'm feeling a bit better tonight and I"m hoping for more than 2k steps tomorrow

Back to bed

You have no idea how happy I am with that! I went on a girls shopping trip this past weekend to North Dakota and ate like crap.. and had a few drinks! So for it not to be a gain, it amazing for me! I also just got my meal and workout plan from my trainer, so I started it yesterday. Holy jeepers I have to eat a lot of food. Yesterday I didn't even eat everything she told me to. Getting used to that much protein is going to take some getting used to. The workout was hard, but I can tell it's going to be effective.

Sheesh - Omigoodness!! I'm so glad to hear that your daughter is doing okay after that crazy accident! I bet it was really scary for her. As for the stuff going on with your health, stay strong girl. At least you're getting it checked out and not just leaving it, hoping it'll go away. I'm thinking of you!

Lois - Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. There's a bug going around up here too, so I'm hoping I don't get it. I have been fighting it off for a couple weeks now.. I can feel it.

Off for my day of driving north. Enjoy your Wednesday!

Good morning, all. Here's my stats for the past week.

    SW: 155
    LW: 144.8
    TW: 144.2
    GW: 130

I weighed 143.8 yesterday and was excited to get to put in something less than 144, but alas, weight is fickle, so this morning it was up a little. I'm happy since this past week included our trip to the shore, which affected both activity and food.

A look at my seven-day totals showed that average burn was not that different from last week, since I got in some extra activity on a couple of days, but intake was indeed higher, so the deficit was lower. I'm also still struggling with sodium. I want to get carbs down a bit more, but at least there was some improvement there (137 g per day average last week, and 128 g this week). I'm grateful for the good seafood while at the shore, as that helped me say no to some of the snacks in the condo. I totally resisted the donuts, cookies, and ice cream, but found myself with a can of salted cashews one night (high calorie/high salt).

Lois, take care of yourself and feel better soon. Kelly, safe trip to the work site. And congrats to you both on the losses.

Light and Sheesh--hope you're both okay and looking forward to hearing from you.

It's so nice to read all of your messages of support. Thank you! I got the big mammogram, and I'm happy to report that no cancer was found :D !!! I feel so blessed . . . not only for my health and the health of my daughter and family . . but for all of you wonderful women here!!! <3 I appreciate you all so much. <3

Lois, congrats on your getting back into the 170s! I really hope you get feeling better fast.

Kelly, well done to not gain weight while with girlfriends. That's hard to do! Now that you're back to work I expect your steps will go through the roof again, ha ha!

Sarah, you're so dedicated with the walking and exercise. Good to add the weights. . keep it up. Thank you for your supportive thoughts. I'm so happy I got good news before flying off to Boise to cuddle my granddaughters! We leave Saturday . . returning next Wed. I'll check in then.

Light, hope you're well. Thanks for the good vibes.

    Here are my BLEAK numbers:

    SW: 156
    LW: 138
    TW: 139
    Goal weight: 120 - 125

I've got some work cut out for me. My goal is to not only STOP gaining, but maybe get a pound or two off before the New Year.

    Hi, Ladies,

I am so glad to see Sheesh's post with the good news. :D My friend has not heard back from her biopsy, unless she did today. I'm hoping she'll also get the "all clear."

Yesterday and today have been killer days at work. My team got royally dumped on. I was so tired last night that I did not go to the mall to walk--and you gals know that I usually make it, and most of the time I look forward to getting away from the house and this desk!

To top it off, I had major computer problems today. Thank goodness I had a backup and hubby's work was slow, so he spent hours working on it and staying on the phone with Microsoft in India! I am grateful for him and grateful that I'm pretty much through for the day, except for a personal meeting that I plan to attend.

I'm beginning to fret about the fact that I have bought almost no Christmas gifts. Having that in the back of mind makes the work stress more stressful. I really have to get a LOT done this weekend.

    Have a good evening, everyone.

Congratulations Sheesh!! That's fantastic news <3

Sarah - Don't let the stress get you down. HUGS! I'm sure once you cross a few things off your list, you'll feel such a relief. Don't forget that you're the most important person and you need to remember your health more than anything!

Day 4 of the Fitness/Nutrition plan and things are going well so far. Last night's workout was killer and I thought I wouldn't be able to sneeze today with the amount of ab exercises I had to do. Surprisingly, the abs hurt just a bit, but my legs are killing me from the 30 minute interval run/walk on the treadmill. The food part is going well.. just trying to get into a routine.

I hope all is well with everyone!

Just checking in quickly before the start of conference call. Today has been another killer. My client keeps sending me things that she wants immediately. I cringe when I see those deadlines highlighted in yellow. The last one--she wanted something within 20 minutes. I have 6 inboxes. Sometimes I don't see something for more than 20 minutes. Arghhh.

So, I'm stepping away for a few minutes, grabbing a piece of cheese, and regrouping before the call.

Kelly, your post reminded me of something. When I went back to college for the second time, I ended up needing a one-hour credit to make up the correct amount of credits, and about the only one-hour courses are PE courses. So I took a physical conditioning course, and the instructor was a former Olympic swimming coach. We didn't swim much in this course, but he applied what he knew about training in general. And this man was obsessed with interval training. He said it is extremely efficient. I'm probably too old to do this now, but he also loved wind sprints, where you just run as fast as you possibly can for a short distance, rest, and then do it again. (My neighbors would probably love it, if I would do in the street on our cul-de-sac! So think about how much progress you're likely to make.

I'm going out to dinner with girlfriends tonight before volunteer work. One is a vegan, so I'll probably get a chance to try out some different foods. I'm still eyeing things for carbs and salt.

    Later.....

Just checking in before the week ends altogether... it has been a bear of a week and I am exhausted. I am heading to bed after this posting. We had the office party last Sunday (at a really nice restaurant) and the office pot luck gift exchange today. I've tried to eat healthy and contributed a chicken taco salad to lunch so I was able to be sure of something proper to eat :)

    SW= 198
    LW= 177.0
Thurs weigh in= 175.6 :) down 1.4 lbs, not bad considering the holidays, long days and not getting the exercises in...

Sheesh, good news about your test results :)
The rest of you, please forgive me for not giving individual responses but I am seriously in need of hitting the sack. Up too late the last 2 nights...

    WOW!!! Great job everyone!!

Sarah - Nope you're not too old for interval training - just need to modify for your current abilities.

Kelly - WOO HOO!! I LOVE training that makes it hurt to sneeze...lol

Light - FANTASTIC job - ANY reduction this time of year is reason to celebrate. Continue to keep your choices great.

Sheesh - SO HAPPY for your positive news and have fun with all of the family!!!!

Just checking in and reading back through the posts. I was so stressed last week that I don't think a lot of things registered. I'm rejoicing again with Sheesh that her mammogram was normal. My friend also got good news, although she now has to have mammograms twice a year.

I'm also chuckling a bit at Sheesh's bleak news that she weighs 139. I know that this is up for you, my friend, but I'll be oh so happy to get back down there. Last time I got there, you and I arrived there at the same time.

Keep up the good work everyone. This time of year can be stressful, so take care of yourselves. Can you believe that another year is almost gone!
