In the interest of making some helpful references, I'd like to ask what your go-to foods are when you have come down with a bug. The traditional "sick day" comfort foods can cause some of us to go off plan. Anyone willing to share? I'll start by posting Frob's preferences he shared formwhen he is down for the count.
I have heard many suggest making egg drop soup, though thankfully haven't had the occasion yet to need to use it.
Ideas? What works for you guys?
Beef or chicken stock, sometimes with bacon grease blended in (think bulletproof coffee except as a creamy, meaty soup)
Cans of sardines (if I can manage solid food)
Cheese
Lots and lots of water, unsweet tea (hot or iced), and coffee (hot or iced) to stay hydrated
Extra electrolytes (salt, potassium, and magnesium) if I am losing lots of fluids (through either end)

I eat scrambled eggs, chicken soup with just bland veggies like carrots and celery and onions, plain broth, jello made with plain gelatin and no sugar and pure unsweetened cranberry juice, and if I am feeling really hungry, I puree everything first to make it more digestible. Like a regular meat and veggie meal but pureed so it digests easily.0

I was actually sick this week and tried to find something that sounded good. I made chicken soup, chicken breast, 1/2 cup onion, 1/2 cup celery, and 2 cans chicken broth. Lots of pepper and salt. Just let it all boil and cook together for about 40 minutes. It was actually not too shabby.....0
