Good day folks! Hope you all had a fabulous holiday, but now it is time to get back to reality!

I would like to encourage the new posters to come back through the week and post several times!

Last week I set four goals and made two of them! Not bad....this week I have five, and am going to push myself to hit all five....how long to they say you have to do something before it becomes a habit??

Goals for this week:

1. Follow a proper morning hydration routine
2. Post on this thread every day
3. Post two blogs
4. Log my food every day this week
5. Get to the YMCA twice

How about the rest of you? What are your goals?

Weekly Mini Challenge

Take a photo of yourself as a check point of the beginning of this year. You do NOT have to post it here, but just take it and keep it to look back on at the end of the year. Just let us know once you have done it......

Last week was rough for me. I hit a couple goals, but they were the (in my mind) less critical ones :(. But today is a new day, and hope springs eternal.
    Goals for this week:
    1.Log food for 7 Days
    2.Run 3 X
    3. workout other (bodyweight/heavy bag) 3 x
    4. Plan/Prep meals for next week

Have a trip planned for this weekend so I may have to post for the weekend on Monday, but I'll still count it.
I'll take the picture today, that's a good thing.. I think.

3.post in here every day because they really helps to keep me on track
4.make all my food for the week and not go out to eat.

I also like the photo idea. i'm going to do that. thanks.

    Goals this week:
    1. Walk to and from work everyday.
    2. Workout before work twice.
    3. Walk during all of my breaks at work

I've been slacking with my break walks, so I'm getting back to it. My boss also just approved my new work schedule. This means I have plenty of time to workout before getting ready for work. I'm going to start marathon training early, so I can get into the swing of things.

    Hi there,
Jumped back into MFP on New Years Day and I love reading about what you guys are doing to stay on track. This week I WILL:
    Log every bite
Actually drink water, not just coffee!
    Go out walking 3 days
Take that dreaded full body picture. ;) I know that I will want to see how far I've come. Thanks for the reminder.

good morning all, well today was one of the new classes to try out but it got canceled because we got hit with a lot of snow :( it's ok because one of my zumba teachers posted she is subbing for another teacher on thursday and is going to try something new. so what the hey I should still be able to get my 2 new classes in. as for today I made my smoothie just juice, frozen berries and yogurt. and I might head to my little gym I have in my complex and I do mean little gym haha and walk on the treadmill and get some blood pumping.

@Jltheis I love curves but they closed our by my house, and you can get your steps in, keep it up

@unknown it's been to log for me being out of the group I had to come back. I'm glad your still around.

lets make today a great day

Hi everyone. I'm new to the group but not new to MFP.

My goal is to stick with my menu plan for the week. It doesn't sound like much, but it's actually a pretty lofty goal, so that's all I'm going to list.

Alright, last night did not go so well....I had a meeting after work which is why I got home so late...I was bombarded with phone calls about the meeting before it started, and then it ran way late. By the time I got home, I was overwhelmed, over tired and I wanted to eat all the sugar in the world. And, after midnight, I did. I usually try to go to bed by 10pm, I didn't get to bed until well after 2am. I was already tired from the night before. I have eight million errands to run today, so many in fact, that I have already tabled some to Thursday, and my cold continues to feel like it is getting worse instead of better. I was so tired this morning, that after my son got off to school, I tried to lay back down and rest for a bit before going out, but just as I was dozing off, my phone started going off with another emergency to due with the meeting last night. I am so sick and so tired and drained I do not feel like doing anything, but I must. I think I am going to take the gym goal down this week, mostly because I get out of breath every time I move because of my cold, and then cough up a bunch of crap that does not look like it should be coming from there, lol. I thought yesterday I was feeling a bit better, but I guess not, without proper sleep I do not think I am getting anywhere.

So, I am sorry for the downer rant. I must go get ready to go out and run around the city like I am not sick....I will be back tonight with another post!

unknown rant all you want, It helps. and you do what you need to do to get better.

as for today I went on the treadmill for an hour doing some fat burning mode it would change every 3 mins so at any time it would be 2.5-3.5 and an incline to 3 so each one changed on me. I also have zumba tonight

I have food in the crockpot and I needed a snack because dinner won't be till after the gym tonight so I had some sugar free jello cups(2) 5 cals each which is good and some cool whip ( i could eat cool whip just by it self lol ) but still in check for everything. today I feel lazy, it took me a while to get going to the gym to go on the treadmill, and I know I have to force my self tonight to zumba ( I love zumba) I just hate going out in the cold, it makes me want to skip the gym and I know this isn't helping me in away.

Getting back at it after a far too long hiatus.

This week's goals, started as of yesterday.
    • Log all food every day, regardless
    • Increase number of vegetables in diet
    • More water, less soda and black coffee instead of cream and sugared
    • Post here daily

Being back to work might be stressful but it helps me get my steps in...8000+ today just at work. Two hour late start tomorrow so staying up just a little later to get some paperwork done. The below zero windmills are keeping me from the gym too Skittles!

Unknown_sister, keep a smile in your heart cause this too shall pass as my Grandma used to say. How are you doing with your morning hydration?

Hey everyone! Well, just to throw some salt in my wounds I am now without a laptop for about two weeks :|
I dropped it slightly and now the charger piece inside it bent. It is covered under warrenty, so that is good, but I guess I am now going to learn to master mfp on my phone! I am glad I could even post, was not sure!

I am so happy to see so many new posters, but on my phone it is harder to look up and down the thread to see who wrote what. I am not giving up, please bare with me the next couple weeks!!

Morning hydration did not happen today, I really have to work in that. It is so important to my health being a type one diabetic with only one kidney! And being so heavy I get dehydrated really fast if I am not careful.

My new goal this week is to learn how to log food from my phone lol

I am not giving up! And I don't want any of you to either!! We got this!

unknown-sorry about your computer. and I am also glad you can use your phone now. because you couldn't get into the groups.

jltheis7- WTG on getting 8000 steps, that is great. some days it's so hard for me to even get 5k in steps. thats why i have to push my self some days.

Numb5kull, RhonndaJ and ,FloraJL- welcome to the group.

matfatcowboy- how was your day yesterday?

today I am still sore which is normal for me when I haven't worked out in for ever it seems. today I think might be just a easy day. I think I'm just going to do zumba ( I don't care much for this teacher because she adds way to many steps in to her dances) she is a dancer and really good so she over does zumba to much but I think if I do something it is going to help.

Had a good eating day yesterday, weather has kept me inside all week (no running, no access to a treadmill) but I've been doing bodyweight exercises to try to compensate. Biggest thing for me so far this week is getting enough sleep.

Ok, I have started up my old desktop lol

Hello everyone!! A big welcome to all the new posters!!

FYI, I am going to take my photo challenge tomorrow morning.....

I finally made a DRS appt for Friday morning as I still seem to be getting sicker instead of better....can't wait until I am not blowing my nose and coughing every two minutes!

So,. how is everyone doing with their goals this week at the half way mark??

I have two I had to drop, I am not able to blog until I get my laptop back, because believe it or not, I have no idea how to find my blog without the bookmark lol

I also had to drop the YMCA, as I can't even walk without getting out of breath because of all the crap in my chest...I can't wait to see the DR tomorrow, hopefully she will be able to give me something to get rid of this!

I forgot how much faster I type on this desktop, the keyboard is different so I do not accidentally erase an entire post with two keystrokes, lol. I am actually a very very fast typist, but find the flat keyboard on my laptop slows me down.

How many of you have taken your photos?? I am going to do mine today.

cowboy - I know what you mean, the weather here has been terrible this week....we have an advisory out to not have uncovered skin outside for more than 5-10 minutes because it is so cold!

michelle - I could not agree more, the holidays are so busy and stressful, I am always relived when they are over...not a big Christmas fan to start with, and then all the craziness sucks what little holidays spirit I might have out of me well beforehand, lol

jessica - I have a fitbit too, I bought it for myself on Black Friday, the flex...I love it....

skittles - did you try any new classes?

jitheis - how is school going so far? Are you able to keep your stress in check??

Thanks for all the support BTW, I really appreciate it!

I am working on my daily glass of lemon water now, LARGE glass, I should be drinking it faster but can't get any air through my nose at all, so I am not wanting to drink...This better be my only cold this winter cuz it is a big one....

I am wanting to change my handle here....I used Unknown_Sister because I was going to try and keep this page separate from my everyday life and friends, honestly just so I could post bluntly on the message boards....but truth me told, I am rather blunt and outspoken anyway....I use my facebook as a soapbox for social and political issues, lol, so my friends already know I am a loud mouth....and now I have three personal friends on here anyway that have 'found' me over time, so I am thinking about changing my handle to one that I normally use on sites and more suits me....will that just confuse everyone at this point??

I had more of a success last night than I thought.

I do mystery shopping and last night I had to do a shop for a quick service food shop in the mall. I usually avoid the mall like the plague so I had no idea where inside the mall the store was (it doesn't have a food court). I picked one end I knew had a lot of fast food places, but of course it was at the opposite end of the mall.

I am recovering from two knee sprains. I injured one while moving furniture, and two weeks later I sprained the other one while exercising (ironically). They still bother me A LOT.

But I decided that instead of going back out to my car in the single-digit temperature to walk the distance. My knees were screaming 3/4 of the way there but at that point I didn't have any other option so I powered through.

Before I went to the shop, I went to their website and figured out the foods I could have and what the total calorie count would be. I ate well, felt full, and then walked back.

I was surprised to find out that I burned 245 calories! (I used Map My Walk to track distance and speed).

I feeling mighty proud of myself for forcing myself, even though I can barely move today.

I was certain that I posted yesterday. Ah well.
I'm doing well in my week's goals.
I'm actually tracking my weeks from Thursday to Wednesday, so I added in exercise to my goals.
Not much but I'm just getting back to it.
5 minutes on The Beast (aka an elliptical)
I do wear a fitbit, but my numbers are dismal.

It's so great to be reading what others are doing.
