What was/is everyone weight loss rate? Did it match your expectations?
I don't have a scale right now since we moved to Hawaii 6 weeks ago and have been in a hotel the entire time. We just recently moved to one with a kitchen, before that we were literally eating out for every single meal (and eating soooooo much junk)
We have been cooking/cutting carbs since then and I'm anxious to know how much I weigh/have lost. I can only estimate how much I weighed when I started which makes this so much harder. We are moving into a house at the end of the week and are getting all of our stuff then too but I'm afraid that I might have gained more than I expected and in turn my number will be higher than I hope!
I went low carb in 2013 and the weight was literally melting off of me (~20lbs in the first month) and I can't help but have similar expectations this time.
So, how fast are you all losing?

I'm about to share 30 day results and progress pics tomorrow so stay tuned! Last I knew a few days ago I had lost ~15 lbs (started at around 275. I didn't have a scale then either, but I know I was around the same as my starting weight the last time I tried losing weight which was actually above 275).

Hi natalia. I am almost 5 months in. Initially I lost quite fast - around 20lbs in first mth. Since the I have been losing steadily...gained a little over Xmas (oops) and have been losing well since. I am now 35lbs down. This week I have lost 4.5lbs but some weeks I lose very little - it all evens itself out and the numbers are still going down - so that's great.

Weight loss rate at the beginning - a fast 10lbs. Now - slowed down considerably. But the big thing is that I notice my body changing. My "baby fat" from having kids is slowly getting smaller, legs are getting skinnier, butts getting flatter : ( Have stuck with will logging on MFP to ensure I am not putting myself up for failure. Changed from an analog scale to a digital because lets face it - women are very visual. The fact that my body is changing and my scale not moving very much basically tells the truth about staying off the scale. So I am going keep on trucking along taking my measurements, using MFP, and enjoy the company of all the great people on the LC daily forum!

I have been at this for 32 complete weeks so far. I started at 188.4 lbs on 5'6" frame.

The first 8 weeks, I lost 18 lbs, or 2.25 lbs average per week. I did not lose every single week.
The next 12 weeks, I lost 13.6 lbs, or 1.13 lbs average per week. Again, I did not lose every week.
The past 12 weeks, I have lost 9 lbs, or .75 lbs average per week. I have not lost weight every week. In fact, I have gained 5 of those weeks. This time frame included a 2 week vacation over Thanksgiving (Mexico) when I was not low carb, and also Christmas and New Year's planned splurges.

Depending on how much you want to lose (if you have more than 100 lbs to lose, you probably will lose very quickly for a while), I would aim for 2 lbs a week at first, then when it slows down a bit, adjust your expectations to 1 lb per week, then when you get close to goal, down to .5 lb per week. You may lose very rapidly the first two weeks as you dump off your glycogen stores and the water that goes with that, but don't expect that rate of weight loss long term.
