Hi all, well on Sunday I am off to Dubai again for a conference...not that I am REALLY going to attend the conference the entire week! (Maybe for 2 hours only!). Anybody have any suggestions on some good movies out to see?? As we have zero movie theaters here due to obvious religious reasons (but funny we get all the satellite TV you can imagine.....uncensored late at night...go figure that one out!), I have to wait and see any movies when I travel. Loads of movie theaters in Dubai!
Hope you are all keeping well!!! Nice going on your food intake Karen!! Glad to see you are finally on solids! Zac...board games are actually very fun!!! My family loves to play them especially over the holidays when we have a lot of people around.
It is in the mid 40's here, so we bundle up to go to work, then it gets really hot in the building, then everyone has the typical sneezes and coughing due to the weather changes!!
Have a great one folks!

Hi guys, figured I'd pop out of hiding and say hi. I've been following everyone but just haven't been posting. I lead such a boring life that there's really never anything to report. I wake up, get Cody off to school, clean, cook, do laundry, do my bible study, watch tv, play on the computer, get some exercise in, go to bed....wake up and do it all over again. Once in awhile there's a doctor appointment thrown in there for fun, lol. I have been getting involved in the homeless ministry in our church though. There's a group of us that go downtown and hand out food, toiletries, clothes, coats, blankets, etc. to the homeless. And now our church is getting involved in a homeless ministry through an agency called Room at the Inn where we would give food and shelter one night a month for up to ten homeless women/children. The other nights of the month they stay at different churches. It's so very rewarding and I can't wait to work with the children.
Karen, I read that you are on solids now. That was such a wonderful time. I was so ready for solid food by the time I finally was able to eat it. Zac, I love a good board game. We try to have a game night here in our family a couple nights a month. We either do something like bowling on the Wii or a board game. I LOVE to play the game SORRY!, lol, or a good game of Scrabble. Michael and Cody love Monopoly but I've never been good at the one (well, unless I was the banker, hehehe). Nora, how are the wedding plans coming along? When was the date again? Also, are we going to have a challenge this week for our little competition? Has anyone talked to Patrick lately? Was just wondering about him. Nancy, I never get to the movies but I am hearing AWESOME things about the movie American Sniper (though I don't know if it would be playing over in your corner of the world). I'm really hoping to get to see it myself before it comes out on DVD (which is when I usually get to see the movies).
Well, I hope everyone is doing fantastic and staying warm. And Nancy, have safe travels to Dubai and then back home again.

Uff da, sorry folks. I lost another family member and I've been hermiting. Too much too quickly. I know a lot of folks have been through similar things and I just need to keep plugging away, but my heart hurts.
I've managed to keep up with exercise, though, and get myself back up over 100k steps for the week. I'm proud of that, at least. I've also started doing some more wedding things, like making my favors (limoncello!) and finalizing some vendors. My date is April 18 -- less than three months away now... Oooooh, my.
I'll post a challenge! Can't believe we're halfway through the week already.0 -
Happy to hear you are doing well Dee. Your ministry work sounds very rewarding. I know this may sound offish to some, but I am an animal rescuer and my volunteer work is feeding feral cats (and then I end up adopting the buggers!). I admire the work you are doing Dee.
Norah...so sorry you are going this in your life. You are doing a great job at continuing to work out...and wow....April 18 is just around the corner!!! Congrats!! you have done a fantastic job of losing weight and getting healthy!!!
Dee...you are probably right about the movie 'American Sniper' not being shown here. They refused to show the movie 'Noah'...BUT they sold the DVD in Bahrain!! So I bought it and brought it in to the country!! lol...go figure!! Just somethings don't make sense...but that is nothing new here!!! Had a conversation with one of my female Saudi staff member and we talked about 'driving' and when the heck are the females going to be allowed to drive here!! I said I would be renting a car in Dubai and driving...she then tells me that one of our staff (female Saudi) drives her husband's motorcycle all over the place here! I was totally surprised (women can not drive ANY motorized vehicle here)....because she wears the visor and pants etc, she looks like a male and has never been stopped!! If there is a will.....there is a way...no matter where you are in the world!! lol0
