Which fitbit to get?

Back into eating clean and running, and am planning to get a Fitbit. I've done some research, and it would seem that at this level a Fitbit Flex would be adequate, but some friends say they have found limitations and wish they had gotten a Charge. Any feedback greatly appreciated!!

I have a flex. I love it, but I also do a lot of strength training that does not get tracked by fitbit. I was debating the chargeHR but I heard mixed reviews because it is on your wrist and can't get a good read such as a chest strap would. I went ahead with the PolarFt7 just to wear for my workouts and I love it so far. I wore it yesterday for the first time and tracked a 667 calorie burn (with cardio included). Fitbit would have not tracked that much because it does not have the HR monitor. Overall though, for everyday stuff, I love the flex.0

So maybe I should get a flex and then just manually log in my strength training (and then upgrade as my workouts intensify)?0

Just a side note (sorry to de-rail, OP) - HRMs aren't a good indicator of calorie burn during strength training. Really, HRMs are only accurate (or, as accurate as they can be, still being based on estimates and averages and such) for steady-state cardio. It will still capture an increased calorie burn during strength training because your heart rate does increase, but the effect on your body/calorie burn is not the same as it is during cardio. (Here's a good article: http://www.sparkpeople.com/blog/blog.asp?post=you_asked_how_accurate_is_my_heart_rate_monitor_for_strength_training.) So, you might want to be careful about logging all of those calories. Sorry, just wanted to throw that in there!0 -
Yes!Log your strength training (non step workouts: squats, deadlifts, etc) into Fitbit, NOT myfitnesspal. Fitbit will take care of the cardio part. I had trouble still figuring out calories burned even by manually logging it in, so thats why i got the heart rate.0
