Do y'all ever worry about not eating enough calories? Does it hurt to not eat a certain amount?

Right now I'm not counting calories at all. just carbs. filling in the rest with fats. I was told that getting enough calories through fats is key to success and proper body function.

In the beginning I did not count calories and lost 20 pounds. Then I stopped losing weight for a while. I restricted myself to 1200 calories. I did lose about 4 lbs but that was it. So I started to eat 1300 calories and lost 6 pounds. I'm going to continue both counting carbs and calories but will modify as I go.

Hit a wall in weight loss. Had a Direct Calorimeter Test done. Seems I was working out hard and NOT eating enough. Raised calories from 1200 strict, to 1300 plus half my exercise calories back (so total, about 1600 to 1700 daily). Weight started dropping off. Also reduced work outs from 3 hours a day to 1 hour per day. Seems that the extra workouts and the low calories restriction, lowered my metabolic rate. So, lesson learned.....move more and eat more
