I’ve been searching for that elusive click—the one that makes me want to make the healthy choice—and I found it yesterday!

I was swimming laps and trying to go for 30mins instead of my usual 20. At the half hour mark and I decided just one more. Then just one more! Felt great and also I love my waterfi. Soooo much more motivating to listen to high-energy music. I had crocked Sun’s dinner on Sat but didn’t want it, I wanted popcorn so I had it with a few chocolate almonds. Satisfying and I was only 44 calories over—win!

Then, I found out that my trainer might be moving two time zones over this spring! I’ve mentally kicked myself into high gear and I’m trying to figure out how I can get as healthy as possible before she leaves. I also know another trainer who’s great but she’s the best. Also my trainer is across town and I usually see her right before first thing in the morning but the snow/ice is hard to schedule around. Anyway, my goal for this year was to reach my goal weight of 150 by my Aug birthday (right now I’m 183).

Hope everyone who was under the weather is feeling better. And those who had good weather got to go outside in it :). And Sherry, are your new running shoes arriving with your DH?

    Hi all.

Happy you found your click, April! Bummer about your trainer possibly moving away.

    Hope you're feeling better Val.

And I hope you're hanging in there Sherry!

Thursday I attended a seminar for work (didn't know anybody there), had a session with Jason & did my run Thursday night, got up early Friday morning again to work out with Jason (who had me come in a half hour earlier than usual) then I spent an hour at the office & went back to the seminar. Friday after the seminar I had happy hour with some former co-workers. Saturday morning I did my run, then went to a bridal shower (where I sat by myself because the only people I knew there were throwing the shower - my cousin's son is getting married so it was for his bride-to-be), then went to get in the swim I missed Friday night. Pool was extra busy so I shared a lane with 2 different women during the 30 minutes I was in the water. Went to the grocery store on the way home so I got home around 7:00. Sunday morning I woke up emotionally crashed. I'm so much of an introvert and that was 3 straight days of too much people time (including a lot of time with complete strangers) and not enough down time. I had so much to get done yesterday too because I had barely been home and I just couldn't make myself get up and do anything. About 2:30 I noticed a missed text from my trainer a couple hours earlier reminding me to eat well (too late!) and asking me if I had done my homework. Told him I had done my run & swim on Saturday but nothing yet Sunday, and he told me to get moving. It did get me up - spent probably close to 3 hours getting smaller projects done around the house and did my workout (20 minutes on the bike & some low back exercises).

It's only Monday, I've got another busy week ahead of me, and I'm already tired.

Yay April!! I think I could use this "click" too. I see our starting point and goal are still about the same and my bday is August too. I'll race ya! Haha!

Laura, that is one busy weekend, you should be feeling tired, you aren't superwoman! Hope you get the rest that you've earned.

DH is back and brought shoes! They aren't perfect, but of the long list of possibilities I gave him (based solely on web research, not trying), they are what the store had in my size, plus there are more on order for me. For now, they are a step in the right direction. But also, DH came back with a new attitude regarding work and personal stuff. For example, he wants to join the gym and cut some fat! This is huge for me. He is not in bad shape, but that he might start to watch his diet and program exercise into his priorities will help me so much! He may also return to US as early as next month, for two whole weeks. It's great for his work, great for getting more stuff I need, great for me to get stuff done around the house and "train" the kids to some better habits....but not so great for my gym and running. Plus father in law won't be here then, so I'll be out of luck for even one run. But I'll brainstorm some ideas between now and then. Overall, good day even though I did nothing and will be logging quick add calories which almost never happens, but I honestly can't try to figure it all out right now.

Got my 100000 steps. Today a group at school is starting live healthy iowa. Which helps track exercise in competition. So I'm going to try and stay on track. Did push ups, and stair steps.
