Hello and welcome to the group! My name is Caitlin and I have been running biking challenges since July. I branched out and did a challenge through the holidays promoting ANY exercise (#100hoursin100days). This month I have decided to focus on building muscle so you guys are my guinea pigs :-)
Haha. Well, honestly I have found the most support connecting with others online and Instagram. I want you to share my interest and continued motivation to live a healthy lifestyle. Hopefully along the way you might develop a passion for fitness! The point of my contests are to inspire & keep us all on track. I won't be selling you anything and I can assure you the prize at the end will be amazing!!!
In order to do this. I require that you post fairly regularly (at least TWICE a week to qualify for the prize at the end). The official rules can be found under Announcements. Utilize the group and share your goals/progress/frustrations/etc. as we go along. I will always get back to you if you have any questions for me :-)
To get us started, please post a brief introduction below. I can't wait to get to know all of you!

My name is Lindsay and I am from Detroit, MI. I am back on the wagon after a 6ish month hiatus from my healthy eating and exercise journey.
About two years ago, I decided I couldn't stand the back and forth yo-yo dieting and losing/gaining cycle. I made a change and over the course of the next year I lost 50 pounds. Around the 9 month mark after losing the initial 50 pounds, I began to plateau in my weight loss and couldn't seem to get any more off. I was frustrated and tried ramping up my workouts, started eating Paleo, and began CrossFit. Nothing worked and I was feeling beat. I had maintained my weight for 9 months. The summer rolled around and I decided to relax a bit; I ate what I wanted and stopped going to the gym. Throughout my journey I learned that I love to run and signed up for the International Half Marathon in October, so I was running outside a day a week or so (aka inadequately training) during the summer and that was the extent of my exercise.
Over the course of the summer I started to slowly gain. Then I met my current boyfriend... and then came going out to eat and watching a lot of tv and cuddling; also known as the-decline-of-my-health. It basically spiraled into a habit of unhealthy choices and no movement. In October I decided that despite not properly training for the half marathon I was still going to do it. And I did. I ran about 10 miles before my body literally couldn't go any more, so I walked/jogged the last 3 miles. That was an amazing accomplishment. But even through the proudness and sense of accomplishment I felt, I knew it would've been easier if I hadn't had the extra 40 pounds on me that I had put back on by that point.
I kept on with my unhealthy eating habits until after the holidays and decided enough was enough. My boyfriend decided that he wanted to join me on this journey so we could be fit and healthy together so he joined my gym and we have been going consistently about 5 days a week since the first week of January. I'm hoping that being back on MFP and joining this challenge will help keep me stay motivated and excited about working out. I'm excited to get to know other people on the same journey as me and talk about all the awesome and frustrating things about the struggle but rewarding experience of being healthy and fit!

Hi Guys!
I'm Jessica, I'm 27, and I've been on my fitness journey since Feb. 2014. This is my anniversary month .
My goals right now are to increase my flexibility and strength. I do pole fitness 2-3 times a week (I started in January). I'll be going into level 2 on V-day.
I'll be starting PiYo on Monday (for the flexibility improvement) and going to pole for my strength training. I also spin once a week. This will be the first time that I'm not doing hardcore cardio everyday.
I may not always post in the group, but I am heavily active on my IG page. Feel free to follow me.

Hi! I am Tricia. I have been using MFP for quite some time. As Caitlin knows I recently broke my foot and am unable to do any thing that involves bearing weight on it. I was doing cardio workouts 5-6 times a week before my injury and I really miss it. This is the perfect opportunity to start using my bench set and work on strength training. I need this challenge to keep me motivated!!!0
