We're 25% of the way through this challenge!!
I hit my goals yesterday. My yoga last night felt so good after the long day I had. Choir starts back up tonight, so I'm very excited about that (hence the "sing" part of SingRunTing)!
My goals for today:
1. Stay within calories
2. 10,000 steps
3. Rest day!

Have fun at choir!
My goals today:
1. 10,000 steps (I barely made it yesterday)
2. Water
3. Some kind of workout for at least 30 minutes. After missing yesterday I don't care what I do I just want to work out.
4. Stay under calories.0 -
My goals:
1. Don't get super frustrated at lack of scale movement (after over a week at this weight I would typically say this is all for naught and I might as well eat a pizza. Am trying to channel frustration into motivation to keep at it and work harder!)
2. 10K steps
3. water, water, water
4. Log everything and stay under calories
5. XTFMax workout
This groups helps me keep motivated - just writing down my daily goals where others can see is helpful. Thanks!

Good morning everybody!!!!
Yesterday wasn't a good day, it was an amazing day!!! Calories, water, protein intake and strenght training were perfect but what put the cherry on the cake was doing something I still can't believe I did.
As a hobby of mine, when ever I have some spare thinking time, I mentally compose my success storythe title changes constantly, but there is always a subtitle: "not a runner!" Time to confess: I hate running, I hate feeling like I'm about to dye, I hate doing something that made me feel defeated. In my entire life I avoided running. I accepted that about myself and moved on a long time ago. I was the happiest person when I started lifting and walking because that was clearly my element and it's given me a great sense of accomplishment while smashing 65lb from my weight in less than a year, without running for a single moment. Something funny started happening; when I walked, I began to notice that my heart rate was very low, almost normal. I realized that I will have to kick it up a notch. A few things came to my mind, especially Medhi's ( Stronglifts creator) who once said that all the squats from his program will actually condition your leg muscles for running a 5k without any extra training ( sounds crazy right?)...
So yesterday I quickly read an articles on running form, I put on my gym shoes and started jogging in place, first thing I noticed was the absence of discomfort. Second thing I noticed, this was boring! So I began to go around the house ( the open floor plan lets me do laps in the comfort of my home). After a few laps, I was so comfortable that I grabbed my phone to check my heart rate (135is). Then, I activated my pedometer app, put on the headphones and turned on the music. I was actually enjoying myself! The entire time I felt like I was in a dream, this couldn't possibly be real. I kept checking my phone and the time, after 20 minutes, I was feeling so comfortable, the movements were so natural I felt like I could do it forever. I knew in that moment that I can easily make it to one hour: I actually did it!!!!! No struggle, no bad feeling, no pain just pure amazing pleasure. I actually jogged for 1.6 miles (according to the app). This was the first time in my life that I ever ran more than 2-3 minutes!!!
Once I was done, I actually began to feel doubt. Was I actually jogging, what all this real??? I couldn't wait for my husband( awesome runner) to get home and tell me for sure if what I did was actually a jog or just some freaky movement/spasms. I cannot believe it still...
So I'm posting it here because maybe it will help sink in that now I can jog. My whole "not a runner" line will have to be dropped!
Have a fabulous day and treat your bodies right, sooner or later they will amaze you !!!!0 -
Way to go Danelutza!! That's amazing. That's an excellent sign of progress. I like running outside, I'm not good, fast or graceful..I just slog (slow jog) along but I like it and my heart rate goes up and I get a good sweat on. Now that its winter I use the treadmill or the track but its so tedious and not enjoyable. But I keep it up so went spring comes it won't take me as long to get back into.
Met my goals yesterday, and am doing ok so far today. No time to work out tonight as hubby and I are going to look at an exercise bike for him. He wants to start his journey to health with me at last. We are looking forward to spring when we can get out hiking and biking.
Everyone have a super awesome day!0 -
Wow Kenda your home gym is getting more equipment
Congratulations!!!!
I want to give you a virtual present for your pull-up bar if you installed it. It's a 5 step program to do pull-ups. It works regardless of fitness level and comes from one the nicest, kindest trainer ever!

Also congratulations for inspiring your husband! Ultimately the biggest accomplishment in our journey to better health is inspiring others to join us and like that, one by one we are making the world a better place!!!!0

Thanks for that link Danelutza, that will be a great help! And we got the bike last night. So he is ready to roll now lol. Yes we have outgrown our one room in the basement and now have 2: a weight room and a cardio room lol It's coming together nicely. My son laughs at me because the only place we had to install the chin up bar was in the closet under the stairs. He says I am like a hobbit
