We've recently added quinoa into our household and I'm trying. To get the kids to eat it. Any recipes or idea?

There is a wonderful quinoa blend with lentils and whole grain that is WONDERFUL and FILLING. It's by Soofoo. I got mine at Wholefoods. You can saute onions, carrots, mushrooms and add to it. Or you can add balsamic, lemon juice or cranberries to flavor. I guess I don't really have a specific recipe but rather ways to create different flavors. Hope it helps give you ideas, at least. :-)
I have also added 2 tbsp of caper and olive tomato sauce for a bit of flavor.

There is a company that makes quinoa spaghetti. My Sicilian husband approves!

I make salads for dinner by combining quinoa/beans/chopped veggies, then eat it cold for lunch the next day. Quinoa is very versatile! Good luck!

Thanks! Thats a great idea. Its exactly the kind of thing i was looking for! My kids love fruit and i never thought of combing quinoa with it. It makes complete sense since quinoa is so bland.

I've been making a Quinoa "fried rice" with my stirfry dishes. Precook the quinoa ( I use homemade chicken stock instead of water). Sauté a bunch of fresh veggies with a small amount of olive oil: carrots, onions, broccoli, celery or bok choy...whatever I have on hand really. Add quinoa, a dash of soy sauce and mix. Depending on my calorie allowance, I've added an egg, diced chicken and shrimp to this as well.

I make a great quinoa veggie stir fry. Use sesame oil to give it that fried rice kind of result.

    1C quinoa, rinsed.
    2C water or broth
Cook together like you would regular white rice. (Bring to boil, then dimmer 15 min.)

    In separate skillet,
Cook 1 C finely chopped carrots in 2 t. Oil (sesame and olive)
Add 2 cloves minced garlic, cook additional minute
Add 1 C peas, heat through
Add cooked and fluffed quinoa, combine well
Add 2 T light sodium soy or tamari
Make well in center of skillet, add 2 eggs beaten. Cook and stir through quinoa (this is optional, but adds additional protein)

I add whatever veggies strike my fancy.. Onions, peppers, zucchini, broccoli, etc.. Enjoy!

There are tons of recipes on Pinterest! That's where I get most of mine. I myself have enjoyed Quinoa Taco Salad w/ Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips, Quinoa Chili, Curried Quinoa, Honey-Lime-Quinoa Stuffed Sweet Potatoes, & different Quinoa Salads.

I actually made up my own stir fry after reading this. It was awesome! Thanks for the idea.

Add lemon juice, it makes it so much better, and don't forget to wash it off before cooking.
