Here's the beta version of the glossary. Still obviously working on it. Please let me know if you see typos, poor definitions, or missing items you think need defined. Like I said, still working on it and hope to add a couple links to more info for things, or should I just let the view do some of their own research? It's not meant to be the definitive information sheet of everything MFP and LC but as a reference for those who are trying to learn out language.
It's a huge block of info-vomit right now, and I don't like how squinched it all is and the program I typed it in put line breaks in there where they don't belong. But formatting shall be ironed out soon.

The LCD Glossary
AS= Artificial Sweetener
BF = Body Fat. Often presented as a percentage of your weight that is fat only.
BG = Blood Glucose. The measure of glucose in your blood as measured by a glucometer. This indicates how well your insulin/pancreas is performing.
BMI = Body Mass Index. The ratio between height and weight. A good screening tool for large groups, but has little other value.
BMR = Basal Metabolic Rate = The number of calories your body burns at rest as it runs the normal involuntary functions of your body.
BPC= Bullet Proof Coffee. Originally a coffee brand and diet philosophy of Dave Asprey, which he claims boosts brain performance and weight loss, generally refers to the generic practice of drinking coffee containing heavy cream, coconut oil (or MCT oil), and/or butter.
BS = blood sugar or "*kitten*," whichever applies to the situation
Carb = Carbohydrate
CICO = Calories In, Calories Out = The theory that accompanies the practice of those that believe that all there is to weight loss is consuming less calories than you burn. Or, that you can eat as many calories (of whichever macro composition) as you desire as long as the calories are all burned.
CKD= Cyclical Keto Diet. A diet for people that do high intensity workouts/exercise.
Fat Adapted (also Keto Adapted) = The period when a ketogenic dieter has been in ketosis for 4-6 weeks and has become completely adapted to burning ketones. Many people report noticing that everything is "right:" lots of energy, no remnants of keto flu or gastric distress, and feeling great. The body is basically in the "keto zone."
Fat Bomb- a tasty snack with high fat concentration, used as a treat or to boost low fat intake. Savory or sweet recipes are available. Fat Fast- A brief change in diet, increasing the fat concentration very high, decreasing the carb intake, and keeping (as a result) the calories a lot lower with the aim of forcing yourself into deeper ketosis or to break a stall.
FFA = free fatty acids
Ghee = (pronounced: Gee) Clarified butter (high fat). Basically all the water and impurities are boiled out, including lactose.
Glycolysis = A metabolic state that your body is in when your liver turns carbs into glycogen (sugar/glucose). The glucose is then used by the body as fuel. Glycosis is the "default" or primary state your body will be in when it has enough carbs to convert. If the body/liver consumes all of the carbs, your body will then switch over to Ketosis.
Gluconeogenises= The process whereby the body converts excess protein into
glucose.
HbA1C or A1C= Hemoglobin A1C measures the percentage of your hemoglobin that is coated with sugar, used as a measure of average blood sugar control over past several months.
HWC = Heavy Whipping Cream
IIFYM = If It Fits Your Macros. A philosophy often adopted by CICOers in which you can eat whatever you like as long as it fits your macros.
IF = Intermittent Fasting. A general term referring to periods of off/on fasting, usually for a finite period (24hr water fast), alternate day fasting (like JUDDD, ADF, or 5:2) or a daily fast/feed regimen (like 16:8 or 20:4- with the person fasting for the long period and confining all eating to the brief window.) This strategy is employed for many reasons including (but not limited to) better regulating blood glucose levels, appetite suppression, dislodging a stall, or simply personal preference.
KCKO = Keep Calm Keto On! A philosophy of the ketogenic dieter. Whatever happens (stress, temptation, scale stall), keep calm and keep on plan.
Keto= Pronounced: key-TOE. Abbreviation for "ketogenic" but also a ketogenic diet (see below) in which the dieter keeps carbs below 20g daily and strives for moderate protein and very high fat.
Keto Flu = A period in an induction or very low-carb diet when the body is adjusting into ketosis. Many report feeling run-down, have headaches, terrible thirst, and sometimes stomach upset as the body depletes it's glycogen (carb) stores and switches to burning ketones instead.
Ketogenic Diet = A diet formulated to put the body into (and to sustain) a
ketogenic state in the body. See "ketosis."
Ketoacidosis= Not to be confused with ketosis (see below). Ketoacidosis is a rare condition found in diabetics (most usually T1) and severe alcoholics, leading up to a severe excess of ketones. In the case of diabetics, it is because the diabetes is uncontrolled and the body is producing no insulin. Normal ketogenic ketone levels range from .5 mmol/L (a measurement of ketone concentration in the blood) to 3.5 mmol/L (during exercise). Ketoacidosis is a concentration usually in excess of 15 mmol/L.
Ketosis = The metabolic state in which the body switches to burning fat for fuel (ketones) instead of carbohydrates (glycogen).
LBM= Lean Body Mass. The amount of your body that is comprised of bone, muscle, other soft tissues, organs, blood, skin, etc. Basically, everything other than fat.
LC= Low Carb
LCHF= Low Carb High Fat (sometimes seen as HFLC, High Fat Low Carb)
Macros = Macronutrients, your diet ratio between carbs, fat & protein
MCT Oil= They occur naturally in coconut oil and a few other sources. MCT oil is generally just concentrated MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) from coconut oil. Often used by those who have trouble tolerating other fats.
MFP = MyFitnessPal
MUFA = Mono-Unsaturated Fatty Acid.
NK = Nutritional Ketosis
NSV= Non-scale Victory
OWL or Atkins OWL = Ongoing Weight Loss, corresponding to the changing levels of Atkins, post-induction.
Paleo= Paleo diet, Paleolithic diet = A diet designed to mimic, as much as is possible using modern food, the wild plants and animals available to Stone Age man. Foods excluded (as they have been determined as not available to the hunter-gatherer: dairy, coffee,grains, legumes, processed foods and oils, refined sugars, salt, and alcohol.
Primal= Primal Diet. A diet in the spirit of the Paleo diet, but less restrictive, focusing more on excluding processed foods, grains and sugars, and focusing on quality of food and lifestyle that gets man closer to its natural roots.
PCOS = PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome
PISS = Post-Induction Stall Syndrome. The period between the keto flu and full adaptation where the scale may temporarily stall or you'll see a gain. The body is just adapting. Wait it out.
PT = Physical Therapy
PUFA= Poly-Unsaturated Fatty Acid. Bad fats with excessive levels of Omega-6s which can cause damaging inflammation. Example: canola oil, corn oil, vegetable oil (basically oils that require massive processing to obtain.)
SA = Sugar Alcohols. Sweeteners that are carb free (though do sometimes cause a glucose response), and usually end with the letters, "ol". For example: Erythritol, Xylitol, Sorbitol, Malitol.
SAD = Standard American Diet. The low sodium, low-fat, high-carb diet pedaled by
conventional wisdom.
SF= Sugar Free
SKD= Standard Keto Diet
SV= Scale Victory
TEF = thermic effect of food
T1D or T1= Type 1 Diabetes/diabetic
T2D or T2 = Type 2 Diabetes/diabetic
TDEE = Total Daily Energy Expenditure = TDEE is the amount calories your body burns in a 24 hour period, sleeping, working, exercising, playing and even digesting food. This can only ever be just an estimate.
TKD =Targeted Keto Diet. A diet for people that do high intensity workouts/exercise.
TLDR or TL;DR = Too long, didn't read.
WOE = Way of Eating
WOL= Way of Life

Yes, I'm sorry. I was in a hurry. The definition was up there already as lean body mass, but it only indicated that it covered muscle mass,and not the other masses of body weight that are lean. I just think it needs a bit of clarification for newbies.

That looks really thorough and helpful. Not least the PISS, which seems to be what I'm enjoying (not!) at the moment. But now having a way of laughing about it will help me see it through, so a huge *thank you* for that alone!0

Yes, I'm sorry. I was in a hurry. The definition was up there already as lean body mass, but it only indicated that it covered muscle mass,and not the other masses of body weight that are lean. I just think it needs a bit of clarification for newbies.

Ok. I'm going to go ahead and put up a final of this, just so it is visible and doesn't keep getting pushed down the feed and becomes hard to find. It will be editable and I'll keep working on it. I just want it in the LP. So if there are any other suggestions, post here or shoot me a PM if this thread gets buried.

ah. Short for "macronutrients." The macronutrients are the fat, carbs, and protein in our diet.
The macronutrients of fat, protein, and carbs are the chemicals in which we ingest in the largest amounts and are from what we get the bulk of our energy.
Conversely, micros, or micronutrients, are things like vitamins, minerals, and etc that are important for our health but which we consume in much smaller amounts.
