Cardio woes

I am dying with her cardio! I can't do the jump moves (running man, arm circle kickouts). It's not even the arm circles that kill me but the kickouts! I know it's only cardio 1 but I'm curious if anyone else had struggled with cardio at first, and if it gets easier. I'm mostly out of breath, and so thirsty!! There are no times to drink so I try to do it during the jog. But then sometimes if I drink a lot it begins to cramp when we go back to running mans. Any insight would be appreciated!! I have to stop like 20 seconds into running mans/kickouts and once I stop it's REALLY hard to start again. I just need to keep up that momentum!! By the time I'm done, I'm sweaty and red and exhausted but I feel I haven't given it 100%. Maybe there's a kind of modification for those two moves that someone has discovered, at least until I "condition" my body better for cardio?
For info, I'm like 5'2" and 190, plus I have asthma.

I was pausing the video and taking a break. I think you don't need to kill yourself trying to the do whole thing continuously when you're just starting out. I will pause the video, let my heart rate come down a bit, sip water if needed, then start up again. Often I will do this between circuits to stop at a natural pause in the video. After a month of working out like that, I can later get through the whole thing without pausing (sometimes). I would rather try to do the whole workout with as much as I can give it, but it doesn't haven't to be accomplished within the 30 minutes of the video.
I'm sure you are giving 100% if you are sweaty, red and exhausted at the end. I suggest you try to readjust your thinking. Try not to think of giving 100% as being able to do 100% of the moves continuously. Your 100% isn't the same as someone else's, and it will change over time. I have some days that I am able to do more, some that are awful and make me wonder why it was so bad.
If one of the moves doesn't work for you (like the kick-outs), just do something different. Jillian isn't watching and she's not going to yell at you for doing something else! Why not do butt kicks instead? This video is only cardio, so just keep moving and keep your heart rate up with something you like to do.0 -
Thank you! Your response was very thoughtful and helpful!
I don't like pausing, because she mentions she needs us to keep moving and I know because the workout is only 30 minutes, it's continuous for a reason- because it is so intense and nonstop. I think she has a purpose when she doesn't even let us stop to drink water, lol.
But I do think I'm going to try your suggestion to do butt kicks instead or another cardio activity is a good start! And yes - you make a very good point about doing my own personal 100%. I should stop being so hard on myself.0 -
Totally agree with @Mellie289! Give your 100%. My first few weeks with the cardio my goal was to be able to continuously do the moves. I did not do as many in a minute as they did. Does that make sense? I kept moving but at a slower pace than the participants.0

I just do the moves to the best of my ability on that day. Sometimes I'm smashing it, other times not so much (eg this week is totm for me).0

I also agree with Mellie. Just try to give it YOUR best. The idea is to keep moving, to be active and to make progress. You can adapt the workout and your body will eventually adapt. Even if it means being able to add 5 seconds more every time you do it.
You are on the right track here - you have started this program. Give it your best, acknowledge any progress you are making and stay positive!
Another trick you can use - do the moves for 10 seconds, rest for 5 before you get exhausted, start again.0 -
Also... Take a break and try a long brisk walk or walk/jog.0
