It's Friday!!! Is everyone ready for Valentine's Day tomorrow? Do you have any plans?

We're keeping it low key this year. We're just going to stay home, watch some movies, and order take out. I'm really excited about it.

I hit my goals yesterday. I almost bypassed my strength training. I was really not feeling like doing it, but I said "you're going to feel bad about it if you skip it. Just do it and stop whining!". So I pushed through it and I'm really glad I did.

In case anyone was waiting with bated breath, I was successful with applying the nail wraps last night. It took a little experimenting and a lot of shooing the cat away, but they came out great!

My goals for today:
1. stay within calories
2. 10,000 steps
3. swim & strength

I met all my goals yesterday, well over on calories by 75 but considering the major workout I did last night that's ok. I was like you last night SingRunTing, I was feeling really crappy and was ready to blow off my class but I sucked it up and went and so glad. It was a killer workout and I rocked it and feel 100% better after.
Today I got an hour workout in before work so I am good for the day. Remainder is to stay within calorie range and have a good Friday with a relaxing evening.
Waiting for pictures of those new nails!

    Good morning everyone!!
Nice job on the nails SingRunTing :)
It's a beautiful day to be on top of the roses!
Yesterday I received an email that really touched my heart. It was a beautiful reminder that life is all about what you decide to do with it, it's all about the memories and connections we make.
We come empty handed in this world and we leave the same way; between these two points is a story, our story in which we are the heroes. At the end of it all there is only one question:
" Did you enjoy your story?"
Every day above the roses is another chance to add meaning to our story.
Are you resting today? then put some pillows under your legs and teabags on your eyes and make it special!
Are you eating home today? Set up your table, put out the best dishes and silverware and make it special!
Are you training today? Every move you make is an event. You don't do reps you do Events, so make it special!
Are you working today? Wear your favorite perfume, get flowers around (even if it's just a screensaver) and make it special !
Let's dream that we can live forever but live today like its our last day. Let's do the important things, let's do the right things today. Tonight, before we go to bed let's ask ourselves " have I truly lived this day???"
It is remarkable what we can achieve when we decide to embark on a journey. We make our plan, we put one foot in front of the other and we never stop.
Make it a fabulous day Today!!!!

Great Valentine’s Day advice SingRunTing & danelutza19 – enjoy that food, roses and movie! Kenda2427 – nothing like a relaxing Friday evening!

Wind chill – around minus (-) 25 … brrr … burned 412 calories doing 75 minutes of cardio exercises, including "Walking 3.1 PF"

My wife's "Valentine present" to me two years ago was my son!
So we'll be celebrating that tomorrow! :)

Goals for this afternoon are to get out and run under the rain, the half-marathon is in less than a month now...

That said, I think I made a terrible mistake...
I gave my blood yesterday figuring it would take only a day or two to settle back to normal parameters...

After googling into it, turns out it takes 2 days to regenerate plasma but up to 6 weeks to recover hemoglobin levels... so looks like I'll be playing it Lance Armstrong-style but the other way around.... what an idiot.... (well not the gesture, but it could've waited a few weeks until after the event...)

(In case your wondering, a blood donation is about -650cal spread across the whole recovering period, I just had to check lol!)

Wow Pandathon what a lovely gesture, you saved lives !!! I'm sure you will recover quickly and remember that an extra obstacle just makes the victory more meaningful!
And how nice to have a child on V-day!!!! :)
NikonPal I'm expecting to a picture of a red, heart shaped meal soon ;)

Good to know Pandathon, I am donating on the 20th and have an obstacle race 2 weeks later. Can blame that if I don't have the strength to up and over the big stuff ;) It surely couldn't be because I am only 4'11" lol

So, I'm back from my interval training in one piece :)

@Kenda, though the performance hit is very real, the feeling wasn't that bad, somewhat like the feeling from the first day skiing at high altitude, losing breath quicker than usual and such. Sort of a slight headache as well, and I very rarely have any.

Roughly I'd say about +30s per mile at my usual jogging heart rate or +15bpm at my usual jogging pace, a bit confusing during warm-up. As long as you're not pushing it too much it's fine but I can imagine this beeing a real problem when donating blood a day or two before race day.
And surely not a major problem for any sport that is not exclusively endurance-orientated.
