Perhaps you could join a class? Then you would always have someone to keep you accountable?0

My wife signed up for the gym last November. I thought I'd tag along so we could motivate each other to keep going. So much for that plan. She hardly ever goes, but I've taken over her membership and go pretty much daily.
There are always body-weight exercises you can do at home. I try to do both.0 -

Hey Fruitychix! I don't live in MI, in NC. You can add me if you'd like! I've been counting calories and eating pretty much whatever for about a year and a half, got pregnant, trying to lose the weight again, and in the last 2 weeks, I've switched over to a ketogenic diet, go to the gym on the regular. Keep up with MFP, look at www.reddit.com/r/keto and www.reddit.com/r/xxketo for some more inspiration! I love looking at their pictures and reading their goals and NSV (non-scale victories). Makes me feel awesome!

I've never had a heck of a lot of luck with gym partners, personally. Besides, it makes for an easy excuse to not go ("oh, my buddy can't make it, so I'm not going"). They're nice to have, but not something I find worth relying on.
It sounds like you could use some more structure. Pick up one of the New Rules of Lifting books or Starting Strength, or trade your current gym in for a CrossFit, Gold's Gym, or martial arts membership (or sign up at your current gym for one of the programs or classes they have). These options provide you with a structured program to follow, as well as guidance on how to do the various moves that you're interested in.0 -
Due to mobility issues, I enjoy resistance band workouts. Don't want to hobble to the gym and embarrass myself. So I follow my own workouts at home that I printed up to keep my muscle strength. (killed my knees over the past 20 years)0

Dragon wolf that's what happened to me too. I tried to have a walking buddy so neither of us were walking alone in the evening. Every other week she'd back out and then I couldn't go either.0

You don't need no stinkin gym partner. Walk into that gym, own it! Make it YOUR time! I've been going to the gym for years and have never had a buddy. I put my headphones in, watch T.V., I use to watch Michael and Kelly then I had to get a job so I have to go after so I watch Kathie Lee and Hoda at 2, then jam some music while I'm doing weights.0

Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm more than willing to poke you a bit if need be. I had a partner for the gym, but I ended up in the hospital and when I got out two weeks later he had quit going and as my ride there.... So, I need to look into other gyms honestly as my insurance covers the membership. I digress.... As has been said you don't need a partner. Pick a class if you don't want to be alone. It can also be freeing in the sense that you're not tied down to or dragging someone else along that may not be as into fitness goals as you are. If you really want a partner see if there is a board at your gym where you can post a request looking for a gym partner.
