Increasing calories and exercise

Hi I'm sorry if this is a silly question but after doing low calories and very low calorie diets for a long time I have noticed since I have increased my calories according to scooby when I exercise ( dependent on exercise). My face burns and takes at least an hour to go down .... I have never experienced it this bad before normally once heart rate gets to normal it fades and has only started to happen since the increase - it may be just coincidence but was wondering if it could be the increase that my system is just saying what's happening lol ..I am overweight but have always exercised so it's nothing new.

Any thoughts thanks :-)

Hi. I have roseacea, which causes facial flushing. I definitely get flushing with exercise. Yesterday during my weight training I turned beet red. I probably look like I'm going to have a heart attack. Rosacea flushing can also be related to certain trigger foods. Maybe something you are eating is related to the extra flushing? Or did you change what kind of exercise you are doing? I flush more if I am overheated or if I am out in the sunlight or if it is super cold. Sheesh.

Perhaps you have the energy to go harder than before.

Is the pace/speed/effort/intensity exactly the same as before?

Have you changed when you eat prior to exercise?

I guess actually I feel as if I'm pushing harder ... I don't always exercise at the same time everyday but I do probably eat about an 30min - 1 hr before most workouts .. I have upped my exercise I am lifting 3 x a week and have added some cardio on non weight days it was however body pump yesterday which was my first time - it was much lower weights but high reps so that could be the reason .... Thanks for your replies :-)

So depending on what you are eating and how fast digested, 30-60 min may still have a decent amount of blood flow to the stomach to deal with digestion.

You start exercise and that is shut off usually entirely, and blood sent elsewhere now for the needed oxygen to the muscles.
So here's this rush of blood now, more than face can deal with.

Also, just to confirm. You increased your exercise. Did you change your TDEE estimate?

Thanks for that makes sense thanks ... Actually I hadn't increased tbh the thought of the 1783 cals frightens me and have checked scooby and for 5/6 times a week exercise for me is 1984 . Is that right seems a lot . I will get used to it I will keep pushing through ... Not lost a lb yet but did read that some take longer and I know due to severe calorie deficits previously my system / metoblism has a lot of catching up to do . Thanks again

I'm eating 2100 calories on a deficit so 1984 doesn't seem a lot to me any longer. It's really all mental tbh. Most people eat well more than 3000 calories in a day w/o any problem. You've just been taught and taught yourself that the norm for 'dieting' is very low...it doesn't have to be that way.

Right now you don't want to focus on losing weight. That's not a promise of the metabolic reset. What you are doing is getting your metabolism going again after under eating for a long while, so that when you go back to a deficit, it won't have to be 1200 calories...it'll be a lot more. How awesome is that?! It's worth the effort.

Were you someone who was always cold before? Have you noticed since eating more you are not as cold? I know some people say they notice a difference in their body temp so possibly this could be you. Maybe you get warmer while exercising now.
