Have had quite a busy weekend.
Drinks w/ friends, baby shower, German themed beer birthday bash for friend tonight.
Sticking to water and the veggie platter is not so fun.
Tips for having a good time w/o paying too big a price?

For drinks I do white wine, lagers, or old school cocktails- liquor + lemon juice, lime juice, or seltzer. For food, sometimes I'll eat before I go to the party so I wont be tempted to eat as much, and decide how much I can have at the party before I get there- like one sweet or savory. Or else plan for it earlier in the day by by going for a long run. Anyone else?0

You can always allow yourself one drink, although that can be tough to stick to. A mezze or mediterranean platter is very satisfying. To your veggie platter, add hummus, olives, artichoke hearts, feta cheese, tatziki sauce. A great resource is the Oldways Mediterranean diet book that is put out by Harvard University. (I think.) You can order it from them for $10 even-no tax, no shipping fee.0
