I recently changed medications, I have hashimoto disease and was on 150 synthroid, I changed over to naturethroid and heres what happened.

So heres the recent test
TSH.63 - Lowest its ever been yay
T4-.84 (lowest thats ever been :/)
T3- 3.2 (I dont know if thats low or ok, max is 4.4)

See heres the thing, I feel like im getting better staying up and being present most of the day. My appetite has taken a nosedive and I am having terrible bouts of constipation. I have a thyroid scan tomorrow to see more about what this monster in my neck is doing (not swolen, its just a gremlin)

Any insights guys cause these numbers feel like they look weird to me.

Assuming those are both free T4 and free T3, they look okay to me. The T4 is a little low but the T3 is right in the middle of the range. I think it's best to go by symptoms. For the constipation, take magnesium -- that will help. I don't know about the loss of appetite.

Do you notice any other hypo (or hyper) symptoms? Do you feel better with the Naturethroid? Do you feel that you still have hypo symptoms and need to up the dosage?

Some doctors are of the opinion patients with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis respond best to natural thyroid medications. You could well be reaping all the benefits. Your numbers do look good. Your body's need for hydration, fibre, protein etc. may have changed, only a thought.

I expect your, "monster in your neck" has been around for a little while, scans can take a while to the appointment, I hope all is well and this too will respond to the change in your medication soon.

    All the very best.

Well I saw the endo again today, and he did an ultrasound-- it is dead, after what that entirely means was explained to me, its my understanding that things should get much better from here on out. Primarily because hashi swings back and forth things should in theory stay relatively the same now.

He increased my medication a little bit after looking at my diet and exercise habits, and for the most part I have felt much much better than when I was on just synthroid with the exception of being constipated. And he said that will go away too

I guess since its dead and doesn't make any hormones anymore its good that I am on a full replacement

I'm lost for words, on your behalf. Your endo sounds to be a very good one, taking time to explain all. I'm even more pleased you were already on the natural and now your dose has been increased to compensate. I hope you will feel even better very soon.

Oh man, it has been an awful ride so far fuzzipeg, an awful awful ride. I was seen by my PCM (I have tricare) originally for this and put on synthroid (t4 only) and denied for over a year and a half to see a specialist. Saw a specialist after being fed up and feeling sick by seeking refuge through other channels. I was working out (still am) for I aim for 10 hrs a week, usually hit at least 7 to try to get the weight off, during the swings I would lose, if not I would gain.

First thing the specialist did was say lets see what this will do (the natural thyroid) and schedule a scan in 2 months, started feeling better on the NDT, and then I had my scan and here I am now. I'll see how it goes, the endo seems very confident that things will not change as I see him again in june :)

It's as if you've been panning for gold and come up, after many years of nothing with a large 22+ carrot nugget. Long may you keep them. It seems as if your personal Stars may become aligned, at long last. (borrowed phrase from someone else).

I go with STTM, saying, something like, there is a conspiracy to keep people under functioning, or similar sentiments.
