    I use the following recipe.

For each cup of dry, Steel Cut Oats add the following ingredients:

    5 cups water
    1 tsp Kosher salt
    1 tsp ground Cinnamon
    1/4 cup , dried Blueberries
    1/4 cup Dried Cranberries
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped Toasted Pecans

    1) Bring water to boil and add oats, simmer for 20 mins or until oats start to get tender.
    2) Add dried fruit and simmer for another 10 minutes or until the oats are near the desired consistency.
    3) add chopped nuts and simmer on low for another 5 mins.

Add to Mason jars (1 cup / jar) and put on lids and let cool on the counter.
Once lids start to pop, store in refrigerator.

This should make a week's worth of Oats, ready to be microwaved.

I am not a fan of dairy products on my oats and the cinnamon and fruit add all the flavor and sugars necessary.

    Cold Oatmeal... Oh my!

"Don't panic.. I'm not crazy, oatmeal can be eaten cold and it's delicious. The following recipe makes 1 serving, throw it all in a sealable container, mix/shake/stir, and refrigerate overnight for breakfast the next morning.

    This is the base:

1/4 cup old fashion rolled oats
1/3 cup Greek yogurt (plain or flavored)
1/4 cup of almond milk (soy, fat free, skim, pick your poison)
1 tbsp chia seeds (or more)

From here the options are endless, some of my favorite combos are:

    Cinnamon Apple
    Blueberry Pomegranate
    Peanut butter and banana
    Strawberry banana
    Raspberry vanilla
    Cranberry Pecan

I've added these ingredients in different combos, figure out what you like -
Shredded coconut, fresh fruit, honey, dark brown sugar, dried fruit, nuts!

Caution: Chia seeds should NOT be eaten dry. They absorb water and can be a choking hazard because they gel into a glob (seriously). ALWAYS mix them into some sort of fluid and allow them to expand. They are an excellent, nutrient dense addition to smoothies, too :)

Let me know what y'all think! "

You can take a few cups of rolled oats, empty a large can of pie apples into it. Add nuts seeds berries, whatever you like. refrigerate overnight. You can add coconut yoghurt if you like it on top.

Yes, that works great as a base. I love overnight oats (refrigerated), but I usually use almond milk instead of yogurt. Use whatever you want. I always add chia seeds, almonds, cinnamon, banana (mashed and mixed in), and occasionally other fruits. Melting some semi sweet or dark chocolate, or adding a spoonful of peanut butter is also quite good!
