Issues with sweetness

Does the issue with sweet things leave eventually? I read from so many they can not tolerate sweet post op. OMG they were not kidding it is dramatic. Crystal light packet in a 33oz of water and still too sweet. No truvia in coffee makes me icky sweet now. Coffee is bitter now. Do we adjust or do I venture to find new ways to enjoy or change my coffee and crystal light?

It got better for me. I could not drink Crystal light for 2 months after surgery. Now it is my go-to drink. I never put sugar or sweetener in my coffee, but I couldn't stomach coffee again until about the same time as the Crystal light. Now at 4.5 months post op, I feel like my taste buds are back in working order. But my food preferences have definitely changed.....love chicken pre-op, would tolerate red meat.......now I love red meat and can barely eat chicken. Go figure.

Never cared for sweet tasting drinks except for lemonade, pre op. I can't stand any of it at almost nine weeks out.

I find EVERYTHING too sweet now! I used to have a MAJOR sweet tooth, I LOVED my candy! I can't eat it anymore (which is a GOOD THING LOL) because it's too sweet!
Even my beloved starbucks lattes that I get, are too sweet, so I always ask for half sweet, or 1 pump of syrup, depending on what i'm getting.

I have to really cut my crystal light with water. I use double the water or I can't drink it. I also drink it over ice, and let the ice melt.

I'm 9 months post op, and I still find everything sickly sweet. I hope it NEVER goes away! LOL
I just figured out new ways to enjoy my coffee & crystal light.

Crystal light tastes the same to me, but other sweet flavors are really intense now.
