Hi there. I am new to myfitnesspal. I'm also a fairly new VSGer. Sleeved 9/8/14. I lost 75lbs in my first 6 month with no exercise or food tracking. I started exercising and tracking my food at the beginning of March. I go to the gym at least 4 days per week. Cardio for 1 hour and do full body weights at least 2 days. I'm hardly dropping weight. Am I not taking in enough calories or is this what I can expect or will the loss kick back in again?

The stall is expected if you've just begun exercising. You have lost quite a bit of muscle mass over the last 6 months as part of your weight loss, so now that you're exercising, it's building again. Muscle weighs more than fat, so it is very possible you could even see a brief gain. What matters is inches. I would recommend putting the scale away for awhile until your body finishes the initial transition from fat to muscle. Take measurements and gauge your progress based that those and the way your clothes fit.

I agree. Since I've begun exercising, my clothes sizes have dropped significantly more than my weight. I'm firming and slimming parts of my body and definitely loosing inches. I also find I feel significantly better after exercise. Less stress and anxiety. So I guess it's a win-win.

First it is normal for the weight loss to slow down. Second like the other people have said you're trading fat for muscles. Third the increased muscles are increasing your metabolism burning more calories. The scales don't reflect this shift.

I too am stalled. I had my sleeve done Oct 7 th. I lost around 75 lbs since surgery. I like others weigh daily which I don't need to do. With the weather getting nicer I live in Oklahoma, and the time change lol I can now walk more frequently. I am currently walking about 30-45 minutes a day. But my weight actually went up in one week. I gained 6lbs. Ugh. I am at a loss, but my clothes still fit lose and I know I have lot in a short time frame. I go back to mr nutritionist on the tenth and have not lost any weight since January. The thought of weighing in and no weight loss makes me feel like a failure. Any suggestions. I am going to track my food here to see how much protein. Thanks for listening.

Stalls are so annoying!! But here is how I look at it... the habits I am developing I intend to keep for life--- so I just keep doing the next right thing-- loss or no loss. The longer it takes for me to lose, the more time I have to really get those habits ingrained in my lifestyle. :) Hang in there!

All I know of is to drink your water, make sure your eating your protein first and increase your intensity in your walks. It's hard at times. But don't ever feel like a failure. We all make mistakes. It's what we do to rectify them is what matters most.

Thanks. I keep on pushing myself. I'm better off now with a little weight loss compared to 6 months ago with none.

We all have had stalls and they are frustrating to say the least. But in the big picture your weight loss will continue as long as you keep doing your part.
