Hi,
I am trying to do a reset and been working my way up to my tdee. I calculated my tdee, choosing moderate exercise and came out with 2400 cal/day. Could someone tell me if this is correct? I lift 4-5x a week (circuit training); I burn 300- 450 calories per session. I am a student so I spend most of my time sitting down in class and doing hw. My stats are: 22 years old, 5'4 ft 160 lbs

I would think that lifting weights would have you at the strenuous category. How many hours a week are you working out for? Was you goal to lose weight, gain muscle or lose at a percentage? Why do you doubt it is correct?

That looks accurate for Scooby. But if you are trying to lose weight then you need to choose a deficit. So if you do a 15% deficit you would eat 2000 calories and do not eat back your exercise calories bc they are already calculated in.

I work out 4-5x a week. I am trying to do a metabolism reset so I want to maintain my weight. The calories seemed high because besides my workouts I don't do any other activity throughout the day.

To the concern of it seems high.

Can you try to log a past typical day of eating before you started exercising that caused you to gain weight slowly? Pick a day in the diary prior to joining MFP. It'll work.

How much were you eating then?

Does that really seem that high now?

Most people really have no idea how much you burn, the only thing with calories they have to compare to is bare minimum eating levels from diet attempts.
And you can't compare daily burn amounts to that.

Okay yea when you put it that way; I did eat way more calories then 2400. I will give that a try and log in what I use to eat. Thanks
