Went to a birthday yesterday, did so well until the birthday girl maybe a pitcher of strawberry daquiris. only had one. but it was incredible how much I craved sugar, didn't have birthday cake but when I came home I had a piece of cheese danish. What is the best way to come back from that? I am following my LCHF diet today. Is there anything else extra I could possibly be doing. So mad at myself! Especially since the scale is not moving. HELP!!!!

I am following my LCHF diet today.

You're set then :) Being perfect is impossible. Beating yourself up and being angry with yourself will just make it tougher, though. If you're able to let go of that stuff even a little bit it can really make a difference. Make good decisions with carbs today and you'll be right back on track. Note the cravings you had after the drink. Now you know that and you'll be aware of it the next time you have a decision to make.

If you feel cravings over the next day or two feel free to pile on the fat, just like you might when you're first making the switch to a low carb diet. Not giving in to those cravings (if they come, they may not) is the biggest thing.

Don't forget that water weight can go up after a bunch of carbs (if you're doing keto it almost certainly will, on other low carb variants I'm not sure), so don't worry if you see that either. It'll drop back off once you're back on track.

If you have other concerns about the scale not moving, I'd recommend setting them aside for the next 2-3 days, just get yourself back to "normal" on LCHF. Once you do that and feel settled back in, go ahead and look at your diet and see if there are changes you can make (and ask us for help too! If you already have in another thread I missed it, apologies for that :) )

Hang in there, you got this!

You'll have days of indulgence (at least you should, maybe not whole days, but moments) then you just keep plugin away after that.

    Gotta enjoy life too :)

Good job getting back on track!

Thank you. Just responses are reassuring. Makes me really feel part of this community. Maybe I need to make some fat bombs.

I maintain we fight like hell the rest of the time so that we can enjoy the little moments in life without hellacious consequences. Is it fun? No, but it is the price we accept for the choices we make. Just think how much harder everything would have been after an indulgence like that before you went LCHF! That is gets me through...that and lots of yummy fats!
