Hey everyone! We kinda died down over the weekend.....I know I was super crazy busy this weekend.....I guess everyone else was too!

Last week was alright....I had a bad second part of the week, my sister's father died. I did not know him well, but I am feeling terrible for her.....also, my daughter was trying her best to stress me out.....I handled that rather well, however, she comes home for the summer this Friday......so its gonna be a long stressful summer and I am really going to have to work on my stress management/eating.

This week my goals are:

1. Proper morning hydration
2. Post to this thread everyday
3. Log my food six days (But be mindful what I eat on my day off)
4. Get to the YMCA three times
5. Make my 10 thousand steps every day
6. To blog once this week (on another site) (I have yet to meet this goal, STILL, just no time!!)
7. Go to bed by 10pm four nights this week

How about you? What are your goals?

Weekly Mini Goal

Now that the weather is getting warmer, drinking water is more important than ever! Drink a full glass of water before each meal this week. Not only will it hydrate you, but will help you feel full!!

    Good morning,

This weekend was sort of busy for me too, I went shopping south of the border Saturday, but did well eating out and snacking!
Sunday I had a complete melt down, I couldn't handle the day at all, I guess everything piled up on me and I reached my breaking point. I broke a bowl on the floor then had to clean it up. No point in being destructive when angry just made more work for me.

    Goals this Week:
    1) drink my water day and night
    2) find something to replace the ymca since I now can't afford it till the middle of May, and I refuse to sit at home on my butt
    3) adjust to my new calorie goals (I changed them for this coming.week)

Mini goal: I only drink.water all day now so I'm not sure about this one but I will defiantly do this at dinner time which is my hardest meal

Ugh, last week was bad. Too much giving in to cravings.

    Goals:
    1. NOT giving in to those cravings. They aren't worth it, and I need to get back on track.
    2. Continue getting the household in order. I love seeing the slow and steady progress I am making.
    3. PT every day. EVERY. DAY.
    4. Strength training (upper body) 2-3x this week.
    5. 8-10,000 steps every day.

    Mini goal:
This is actually something I was thinking about last week. We all know that not hydrating enough will also prevent us from losing weight, so I am definitely going to be conscientious about my hydration. Usually I just drink when I am thirsty, but I have noticed long periods of not drinking lately. . . .

Ugh last week...well last week is over and I can only learn from the mistakes that were made (and there were PAH-lenty.

    GOALS

    1. Stop being lazy about food.
    2. Go to the grocery store. More fruits and veggies.
    3. Drink more water! It's getting hot in OK and you don't want to get dehydrated. Remember: needles suck!

Mini-Goal: I will definitely be doing this. I need to get more water in anyway and this will help me eat less :)

    3) Find more foods to eat that won't go over macros (my fat macro is a problem, not from junk food but meats usually)

Afura, try subbing ground chicken or turkey for ground beef. I won't say the taste is the same, but if you season it well, it's just as tasty. Also fish and seafood is fairly low in fat.

I wish I could afford to eat nothing but shrimp! So tasty, low cal, low fat, and high protein. But alas, no. Too expensive. Especially for the good local wild caught Gulf shrimp. ;)

Usually I have chicken breast, though I prefer thighs, they're a little more fatty. My mom used to tell us it was beef in the lasagna. Nice try momma, it's turkey, but still tasted fine to me and I'll eat it. Sirloin tip was the meat my dietician recommended as it's a leaner cut. I don't eat fish and seafood thanks to my brother making a fish head talk when I was a kid. It still makes me queezy smelling seafood, but man I wish I did for the reasons you already listed.

Today was weigh day for me. Down 5 pounds since I started last week. It felt so good to be below 400 this morning. The first week wasn't easy, but glad to see it paid off.

One thing that has made a huge difference is I only ate at home. I knew we were eating out too much, but I didn't realize it until I saw that the bank account didn't really change all week. That was a great feeling to go along with the weight loss.

So I invested in a new crockpot last night to keep the eat-at-home plan going. My old one was, well, just old! Roasting a chicken in it today so I can't wait to see how that comes out!

I hope everyone is having a great week!

HLaR - hopefully the DR can help you out....you have got to get that blood sugar under control to feel better!! I wish you much luck!

I also do not like fish, and wish I did....I do like shellfish, like shrimp, crab and lobster....and clams, but only in soup or casino style. I buy shrimp at home, you can get a bag of 40-50 for around $10 here so it is not too bad, but my kids do not eat it, so I do not eat it often.

malaprop - congrats of the first week loss.....a lot of that was most likely water weight because of the amount of sodium in fast food.....but it feels great to see, and if you continue, it should keep moving in the right direction (just do not be upset if it is not always that fast).

I slept til almost noon today (in my defense, I was up until about 1am, and then again from about 7-9am)....I cannot wait for them to figure out this red blood cell problem.....I hate being tired all the time!

I am soon going to head out to walk for a while and perhaps visit the inside of the Y, lol, it has been so nice out so I have been doing most of my walking outside....I cannot wait until it is hot enough to go swimming, public pools open July 1st, and if this summer is better than last in terms of weather, I will hopefully be there a lot!

That's fantastic, congratulations! That first week or so is never easy, especially depending on how many changes you've made. Whenever I want to eat out I have to seriously justify it with myself. That $8 meal is at least 2lb of chicken, etc. etc. and if the crockpot doesn't have a timer, you can get those timers that turn lights on and off and use one of those to make it act like a timer

    Hi all :)
HLar79, hope everything went ok with the doctor and you'll be feeling better soon :)

    My goals for the day... just trying one day at a time;

finish 1/2 of my stats assignment at least
try and get the house tidier
    slow cooker dinner
    STAY WITHIN CALORIES.

Some of these might not seem weight related but these things are stressing me out, which leads to eating all day :/

Maybe one day at a time will work?

One day at a time is all we have. It will work.

Cleaning to destress yourself is absolutely weight related! So is taking time to journal how you feel, taking time to play with your kids or pets, taking time to pray or meditate. You should be aiming not just for a lighter you, but a healthier you.

This means changing years or even a lifetime of habits - food habits, movement habits, housekeeping habits, emotional habits, ALL of your habits should be reassessed over the course of your journey. Find the ones that work, and change the ones that don't! :)

Baby steps, though. It didn't happen overnight, and it won't get fixed overnight. Slow but steady progress should be your aim. :)

I am not doing well today

I over ate last night, and felt sick when I went to bed

I could not get to sleep until almost 2am

I woke up with an insulin reaction at 3:30am

Then woke up at 6am with an acid reflux attack

I am just getting out of bed now and have like 40 minutes to get to work

I will be happy when today is over, I am sooooo tired and not feeling well at all

Went to sleep late, woke up several time, feeling sluggish. Wore a bright color to work and my striped socks (sock dreams makes socks for bigger calf people, little pricey but hey). Tonight I got some upper body to kick out after work.
One game at a time, Ralph.

Thanks Craftscout ;) I'd never really thought about that but when you look at it like that it's no wonder I struggle! I managed to go into two food shops today and bought only milk and eggs in the first, and just the weight watchers ready meals the hubby wanted for work tomorrow and Friday in the second - that's a small victory in itself!

Dinner tonight isn't going to be slowcooked because I found things that need using up today, but it's healthy and within calories at least :)

Italian_buju - that sounds like a crappy night :( Hope work is kind to you and you get a good night's sleep tonight!

Malatrop: great job having a big loss is a great boost!
Afurfa I like your thoughts on eating out, my family spends so much eating out! I could probably go on a cruise just for what we spent this year!
Nassi oh man I remember taking stats I had to take two semesters of it, made my head hurt, so glad those days are behind me
Italian: yikes sounds like a hard night I hope you have a quick day and get home and to bed early today.

Thanks for the support everyone. My doctor upped my meds again and said that after this she has one more she will try our she will put me on insulin. I feel better taking to her.

Italian, hope you got caught up on sleep. HLaR, glad to hear you are more positive after speaking with your doctor. Afura, hope you kicked it later. :)

Last night had me worried. Leader Appreciation Dinner for all the Girl Scout Leaders in our Community. At an Italian restaurant. With homemade brownies that were reputed to be so good, we asked for them over the restaurant's dessert. (Which they totally were - Caramel Delight brownies, omg!)

I worked out according to my PT. I saved as many calories as I felt I could without making me feel hungry during the day. By dinner, I had about 1400 calories banked (including exercise ones). I still knew it would be tight. I tried to be accurate about my food log. Dinner (including two of those amazing brownies) was over 1200 calories. It could have easily been double that if I hadn't picked up one of the smaller salad plates I found on the buffet line.

I ended the day at a 200 calorie deficit. I totally expected to gain a pound or three this morning, based on my history.

    I lost a pound.

    O.O

    Seriously?!?!?! W. T. F.

This is what drives me crazy about weight loss. I find the older I get, the more consistency I like in certain things. I want to be able to know that if I have a 3500 calorie deficit, I will lose 1 pound. If I do 20 of these squats every day, I will get stability in my knee in about 4 weeks. GAH!

I think one thing I need to work on is eating more frequently throughout the day. The nutritionist I spoke to a year ago said that it was definitely a key - keeping my levels fairly even throughout the day. And I've noticed that on the days where I have one small meal (usually breakfast) and one large restaurant meal, I gain. But yesterday, I had 3 small meals (200-300 calories), and then dinner. The only time I had that, "I need to eat NOW" feeling was right after my morning walk, so I did.

Im keeping up with my goals, drank lots of water yesterday, walked in circles to get my last 400 steps in to 10,000, did my strength training. Today's the super long day at work 10am - 5pm. I don't know if I will be able to do the squats my therapist wants me to start doing now, but I'm going to try to do them this evening.

May you all have satisfying, healthy days today!

That's what I call a success @craftscout ! Can you do the squats at random times? I can't do a lot of squats all at once, I have to break them down into sets, but I don't know how effective it actually is if you're not doing them all at once.

I am super irritated today....I woke up for a meeting early this morning, when I was off work, and the girl that was supposed to meet me did not even show up! We had to call her, and she came almost an hour after that, so it literally wasted three hours of my day! I could have used more sleep ;)

I feel like I am always bitching about sleep, because I can never seem to get enough.....I do not know if I have ever told this before, but I have some kind of messed up blood problem where I do not produce near enough red blood cells. It has been ongoing and it makes me really tired all the time and I also get out of breath easily. I am waiting to see a blood specialist but not for several months yet, and they are not even sure he can do anything about it. Top it off with the fact that my OCD keeps me from sleeping properly and I tend to have acid reflux attacks mid night, and I am always playing catch up!

I am also disappointed that I fell off the wagon big time...I have had two days of totally uncontrolled eating and I am up several pounds.....I know some of it is water weight and will come right back off, but I really need to get hold of the reins and move forward......starting RIGHT NOW!!
