Good Foods, Bad Foods

We're here because we (use to) overeat, right?
I'm thinking that maybe we can create the definitive list of foods that trigger overeating for us as a warning for future eaters. I wonder if we have common triggers.
What's a Good Food? Foods that are impossible to binge on. For example, I couldn't possibly eat a dozen hard-boiled eggs in a sitting.
What's a Bad Food? Foods that make it easy to binge on. Potato Chips are the classic example. Bet you can't eat just one!
I was always amazed at my wife who would eat one small treat, and then save the rest for later. And she was always amazed at me for scarfing down an entire box of treats in one sitting.
Good for me:
Eggs
Meat
High-fiber veggies like Broccoli
Bad for me:
Pizza! I can eat a whole pizza by myself.
popcorn
Girlscout cookies (especially frozen thin mints)
Warm soft bread
Can control, but need to be careful of:
salted nuts
coconut-flavored anything

Sorry, I got to the hard boiled eggs, and all I could think of was Cool Hand Luke.
I don't really have good/bad foods anymore. Back before I went on the elimination diet was a different story. I could eat a 2 gallon bowl of popcorn on my own, even after bypass. It just took longer. A few months ago I tried a piece when the guys were having it, and it just tasted like cardboard. Still smells good, but otherwise a huge disappointment. My worst was Pringles and mashed potatoes. I'd make loaded potatoes for a meal all the time, without measuring. Over time, the bowl got bigger and bigger, until I was using a 2qt casserole dish to make my lunch. It should've clicked a lot sooner that potatoes was one of the things that make me sick.0 -
I think you're right -- I can now eat popcorn in moderation. I'm becoming more like my wife.0

This is a great concept. I went meativore two weeks ago for a side issue and eliminating artificial sweeteners reduced my cravings immensely. So meat is definitely a good food for me. And eggs. (I struggled eating just one last night. I'd be no match for Cool Hand Luke.)
The list of bad foods could wrap around the wall!
Ice cream
Chips, even Paleo-approved Terra chips
Cheese crisps (yes, it happened)
Diet soda
Atkins bars
Real candy bars or granola bars
Anything sweet
Not everyone struggles with a sweet tooth, but if you do, and you find that switching to artificial sweeteners or even stevia hasn't subsided those cravings, try cutting it out. It sure helped me. It's so empowering to finally feel in control.0 -

Most veggies
Not safe (mostly due to the fact that I have told myself they are "bad" and that I can't have any):
French fries
Cake batter (not the cake, just the batter)
Popcorn
Potato chips
Soda
Oreos
Milk (I am/was a milk fiend, could drink a half gallon a day if I let myself, I have no idea why)

Interesting. I don't think I was/am overweight because of over eating. It was the food I was eating. My body just does not like carbs. It's not that I was binging on bagels or gnocchi, it's the fact that I was eating them at all {{sad panda}}.
With this WOE most of the stuff I can't eat is stuff I shouldn't have been eating anyway like frenchfries and potato chips

chicken
fish
beef or any kind
Not Safe (trigger foods):
Rice
my great grandmothers homemeade chicken soup recipe. When I make that I can eat through the whole dang pot in a day.
