Having heard Agave mentioned over and over on MFP but never seeing it before today my curiosity got the best of me and I almost lost my lunch.

I was about to leave but went back to get another glass of water that was on the coffee bar and saw a pump bottle of cane syrup and one with Agave on the label. I pumped about three drops into my glass and touched my finger to it and tasted it.

It was so sweet and in a sicking way. I washed the taste out of my mouth then went a got coffee with a lot of half and half in it to get all of the taste out of my mouth. I think my reaction was in part due to not having eaten sugar in seven months.

My curiosity about Agave is over for life. :(

I'm to the point where the thought of anything sweet makes my stomach feel weird. Not exactly nausea, but icky. Me and my son have to make seventy five brownies for an end of year class party (sooooo glad he is a senior) on Friday. I know there will be no temptation for me! On other woes it would have been torture!

I've never liked agave, but Monday I walked through a candy aisle to get to the wall of Zevia behind it, and I almost gagged on the smell of all the sugar.

I tried agave years ago when I started this journey, since it was supposedly lower G.I. than sugar. But then I kept reading and learned that it is not as good as it was made out to be. Now of course, doing keto, sweets are not tasting good to me.

Last week a co-worker brought cookies to work that were supposedly grain free and sugar free, since he knows that there are now 2 of us who don't eat grains or sugar. I felt I had to take one macaroon since he made them for me, but when I tasted it, I knew there was sugar in it. He made them with agave syrup. It was outrageously sweet, couldn't get the taste out if my mouth for the longest time. It was sickening....never again.

It's made willpower so much easier! So many times on other diets willpower was nonexistent because I felt I was starving.
