Marla- The Woman in Gold is the movie with Helen Mirran (British actress) about her aunt, in the 1930's, was painted wearing a gold dress. The Nazi's stole it from their residence in Vienna along with other possessions. The Vienna museum acquired it after the war and it became a national icon for Austria. Anyway, Helen Mirran wants her aunt's portrait back in the family. Ryan Reynolds plays the lawyer who helps her fight for it by sueing Austria. It was a very good movie. Not a kid movie though.

Both dogs had ticks on them tonight. Charlie's was embedded, yuk! Hate removing those things.

Nice, warm week. I've been working out of Panera the last two days when not at visits. Great place to accomplish paperwork without interruptions.

    Tired so being lazy.

    Have a nice night.

Hi from Mt. Albert, ON at Kathy's and just saw Isaac get his bath in the tub. Kathy put on her bathing suit so I could watch
because they use the regular tub.

We did some yard work today to help them out and I am tired. We picked up a book case at IKEA and still have to put it
together. Dinner is almost ready so I will close and write more later.

Shirley- It's nice you get to see Isaac frequently. They change so fast at that age. How many weeks is he now?

Marla- this has been a quick year. I can't believe May starts on Friday. Rory will finish his sophomore year of college in two weeks. He told me he may be able to graduate after 1st semester, senior year. He won't be home this summer so we'll have to go see him at some point. Quiet household:(

Beautiful out today. I actually got office time after lunch today. I got some things ready for families and have two appts. tomorrow morning.

Tired though. Keep falling asleep in my chair as I watch NCIS and check email and FB. I should have been knitting tonight. May have kept me more alert. I'll have to knit on the weekend. Still plugging away at the book club book Goldfinch. It's over 700 pages! Way too long for a 4 week turn around to the next meeting. Working full time and other commitments doesn't bode for a 700 page read. I'm half way through it and it must be done by May 14th.

    Well sleep well!

    Good morning ladies ,

I'm back at home settling in and sleeping late ish hahaha I woke at 5.45 this am . The house is a mess and have been working on cleaning it up. Since I haven't been home pretty much for 9 weeks due to my visit to Louisiana last time off. It's so yuky lol.

So I know y'all saw my Facebook post yesterday - We paid off our mortgage yesterday ! I'm thrilled . I'm so proud of my husband , even though I make good money too-he really gets most of the credit . He loves to pay the bills haha and paid a 15 year mortgage off in 10 years . to me that's amazing . I am not that good with the bills . We are having a mortgage burning bar b q on Sunday ( Husbands idea hahaha he says we will actually burn the mortgage I think that weird but ok)

I put insurance on my vw bus and am driving it around again . I love that vehicle .

Anj, awesome that your new "friend " will write letters to you . I love getting letters from someone special.

Jenny , I love the new patterns you are sharing . in fact I may try to make those booties !

Shirley , The baby is so beautiful , You're so lucky !

I am so happy to be home whew, my youngest grandbaby was over yesterday . He's so adorable . He just made two last month and counts to ten easily and knows most of his letters ,thanks to ipad games . It's really amazing .
I'm going to go buy a wagon for the grandbabies today .

Also going to go to my office today to learn how to do this new report that our company want us to do .I'm not good at new computer things lol . Especially with no real guidance you know.

well, see yall soon ! I'm off to check out that report.

Jenny - that is quite a proud deal for Rory. !! Nice!

Shirley - love those baby pics - how nice you get lots of snuggle time

I am without a washing machine again and it makes me very stressed. Hubs ordered a part that will supposedly fix it - but if not - more stress! Order new pants in a bigger size - even though I am working on getting cals back under control I couldn't handle the tightness - very bummed

I had two wonderful days with my grandson, Isaac. I will post a picture, he is growing like a weed. He will be a month old
    tomorrow. He is flourishing.

We did do some yard work for two days trying to get things done for their housewarming party in May. Dave did some other
jobs too and we were tired by the time we got home, but it was a good tired. We had a lot of snuggles with Isaac in
    between.

I did get a 40 min walk in the morning before my doctor apt. this afternoon. I got some good news from the doctor
report. No more type 2 diabetes and cholesterol was good but could be a little lower. My BP was 136 over 68 for
being taken first time, not 3 times with an average like usual. So I believe the yoga is helping with that. My weight
was 3 lbs lower than my scale at home so my scale is higher than it used to be. So all in all I was a happy camper.
My hard work over the last 4 years has been working. I have a goal of 160 and still have to lose 17 lbs to get to that
goal. My first goal was 150 but I think that is a pipe dream with our lifestyle as I mentioned to the doctor. He is
just happy I am working at it.

I have not been having any problems with MFP lately and hope my picture doesn't mess things up.

    Quick check in...
Wow Shirley! WTG on your Dr. appt. results! Isaac has changed so much. Big boy!
Marla- Didn't you just have problems with your machine? Hopefully you get it fixed soon. We are contemplating buying a new washer and dryer soon. 21 years old, not efficient and doesn't clean or dry too well.
Amy- I love those patterns too! They look easy. Enjoy being home with hubbie. Congrats on paying off the mortgage. Unfortunately we have not:(

    Morning,

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Happy May !

Last night we went to a fundraiser for an Irish Theatre Group and saw some young girls Irish Dancing. Very cute costumes and all! It was put on like an Irish Wake and every one pretty much wear black and was dressed like going to wake.
Some of course were in jeans. The food was so so, catered and salty. As the scale reveals this morning.

We are waiting for the Home Depot guy to come and measure our downstairs for carpeting. He is coming at noon so i better
get going and get my shower. I plan on a walk today later on.

Dave is taking is easy after being at the boat all day yesterday putting on a new stripe down the side and buffing. His
back and arms are sore today. He still has to wax the bottom then it can go into the water. No one seems to be
in a hurry getting their boat in this year. I guess the cold weather for so long has done that.

    Enjoy the day!

What a beautiful spring day today! It's so nice to finally have nice weather. I got a short run in this morning and a brisk walk. (plus lots of walking while doing my errands since I walk everywhere for them) Next week the temperatures are supposed to get into the high teens! (That's into the 60s for those who use Fahrenheit) I'm looking forward to lots of opportunity to run next week. I have a race in only two weeks. Yikes!

I've been keeping busy. Work is going OK. Things could be better, but it could also be worse. I worked some OT this past week. Things were really busy for a couple of days.

    Hi!
Yesterday I bought two baby gifts and a wedding gift. My two nieces (Russ' side) are having babies, a boy and a girl. I'm going to the shower next Saturday. I have a wedding shower on May 21st so bought her a gift also. Two more baby showers and one wedding shower this summer. I work with a lot of much younger women.

I've decided on the paint color for my table and chairs in my hobby room and I bought a rug to go in there also. The room is a very pale ocean blue and the furniture already done is white. I'm going to paint the chairs a darker blue in the palette of the walls. I think the table will be white like the other furniture.

Well Jeff just got here for dinner so I'll write again tomorrow.

What a perfectly beautiful day!! It got up to 18 today! (64.5) I walked to church today in a short sleeved dress and NO jacket! It felt wonderful! It's supposed to be like this all week. I think spring has officially (and finally) arrived. It's perfect running weather all week. Which is good since my race is NEXT WEEK! Yikes!!!!

Been getting to know him a little more. (We are actually texting right now - I'm multitasking) It's great to meat someone who shares my beliefs.

another dance recital over - only two left!
Caleb spent yesterday throwing up every couple of hours - poor guy. He's at the field day this morning - praying he's ok and doesn't get sick there. - a couple of hours and I can head out

    Ang - yay!
    Jenny - so crafty!

    me - so tired!

Ang- I'm glad you like your new friend and you are continuing to get to know one another. Love is in the air? Also glad you are finally experiencing great weather. We are too, 80's and sunny. We did get a lot of rain last night which was badly needed.

Marla- bummer Caleb is sick! :( Are you still exercising after the first few times you rocked it?

My cat is outside crying to come in. Yes we are letting him out in the backyard. Never been an outdoor cat but wanted to be. Now he is happy but stays in the yard. I guess he knows where his bread is buttered. Russ is hoping he wanders far and doesn't come back. I have mixed thoughts on that.

    Well have a nice evening!

    Morning,

Ang - Glad to hear the romance is flourishing. :) Are you now working for the
government? I guess I lost track of your interviews and such.

Jenny - Your craft room sounds so inviting and cute. Boy, a lot of showers and weddings and
gifts to buy. I have my daughter's housewarming this month. A wedding in June and August.
We were supposed to go to a 60th Bday party but it was cancelled. My friend's husband was turning 60, but she got notice to have surgery 3 days before the party so it was cancelled.

Marla - I hope Caleb gets better soon, sounds like the flu.

    Hello L and Amy.

Has anyone got notice on the new Premium of this site. They will be charging 9.99 a month and 50.00 a year? They are doing the US first and then the other countries.

Yesterday was a lot of running around it was my sister's birthday so lunch with her and we met Joe her new boyfriend so never got my usual exercise in for the day.
A nice visit and she liked her gift. She turned 58.

After that a lot of running around and I did buy a new pair of runners. I have been getting New Balance with success but
I went with Brooks this time and a larger size. Now to test them out with a walk. Today I will get on my bike, I still have it
on the turbo trainer and hope to have it off that and on the road this week.

Our boat will be in the water this week and then I can clean the inside and get it ready for the sailing season. It has been
a slow start this year due to the weather. We have had a great week so far with weather with many people wearing
shorts around here so I hope it continues. Dave is out and about this morning already picking up our Dodger for the boat which was repaired and getting himself a hair cut.

Well better get going so I can get on that bike. I am also planning on an evening Yoga class tonight.

    Have a splendid day!!!

Shirley - I saw it. I don't like it and won't be signing up for the "premium". The site is fine as it is.

Miz - Training someone is always hard! You know how to do it, but to explain it to someone is so completely different!

He's coming down to see me! We have a long weekend in two weeks (the same weekend as my race) and he's going to come down. He's going to church with me Sunday night and then we will do something together on Monday. Not sure what yet. I will need to keep my eye on the weather to see what we might be able to do.

Shirley- I guess I should be glad I am invited to young people's showers and weddings :) It is fun to see these young women begin their lives as married people and moms. I hope you get to go for a sail soon.
Marla- training someone is so different because you have to bring what you do automatically to the surface and explain it step by step. Not easy! Hope they are a quick learner!

Hi Amy and L. I think we lost L...

Beautiful here the last few days but rainy and gray today. We need it so I'm not complaining. I had hoped to do a session outside this morning with my student (bubbles, sidewalk chalk, ball play) but went to Plan B.

I finished my 700+ page book The Goldfinch. Very dark book but well written. I'll be interested in what other book club members have to say about it. We are meeting for happy hour on the 18th to discuss it.

My dermatologist wants me to get lab work for Vitamin D and Folic Acid. I do take Vitamin D but will see what it shows. My hair is thin but I think less is falling out.

Flowers are blooming, plants are growing, leaves are open on the trees. Lilacs will open up this week. Spring is here to stay although Minnesota has gotten snow on Memorial Weekend before.

Have a wonderful day! Off to see my first student of the day.

Monday was my sister's birthday and running around so no exercise for me. Yesterday I did double duty
30 min on my bike (turbo trainer) and a Yoga class at night 75 min. I can feel it today and good thing
my chiropractic apt was today to get me back to where I was. Feeling better already. Today will be walking
with my new runners and test them out.

I got some pictures of Isaac so I will post one. He is getting so big.

Our boat is going in water today and tomorrow will be cleaning the inside. Since Dave has been sanding the
companion way there is all that dust around. Looks like I have my work a head of me.

    Shirley - He's so cute!!

Less then 10 days to race day! Yikes! I need to get out tonight. I ran Monday and had a great (slow) run. Tuesday something didn't feel right about it and I didn't. Wednesday's I have no time. Tonight I need to go! Beautifully sunny day again today. Great for running! (or even just getting outside)

All day I kept thinking it's Friday and wanted to shout TGIF!! Then I would remember it was Thursday. Such a busy week at work that I'm so tired in the evening I need to let my mind be blank. Today was our group photo of our department and I was bah humbug and ate my lunch and didn't go down for the photo. I feel so busy and am running around so much that I finally was eating a hot lunch I had purchased and didn't feel like leaving it on the table to go and pose in a photo of 50+ people. I'm crabby!

Isaac is adorable! His facial expression says "What is this thing touching me? Feels funny!"

We have to have 3 observations of us per year for teacher evaluation. One is with a colleague of our choice and the other two are done by an observer assigned to us. I have finally finished my observations and have just one piece of documentation left to do. It's a pain but these are in place to satisfy all the tax payers that think teachers are lazy, over paid and don't do a good job teaching their kids. The state put this in place for accountability that they have requirements to improve teacher performance. It's mainly busy work but sometimes helpful advice emerges from all of it. It's fun to observe someone else and give them feedback.

It's raining buckets today so everything is turning green outside. Great for our trees and plants.

    Marla- bad day?
Shirley- have fun at the boat.
Ang-good luck in your race and enjoy your time with your new friend.
Hi Amy! Beautiful picture of the mountains on your trip!

Have a nice evening. I have a 7:30 appointment with a new student tomorrow morning so I need to get a good night's sleep.

What a lively group today. Sarcasm! :o It's another beautiful day and Dave has been down at the boat all day. He is
doing some varnishing and I had apts today so tomorrow I will go down and do some more things. We still need to wash
the outside of the boat which will be a great day for that since the temps will be in the 80's.

I had Yoga this morning and as of June 15 th they will be extending our classes to Tuesday and Thursday. So I have more
options through out the summer if it gets busy. I had a pedicure at 1:00 pm and now my feet are nice and soft not like
    sandpaper anymore.

We were going to stay home for dinner tonight but our friend Tom called and wants us to join him for fish fry so looks
like we are going out. No cooking :)

Sunday was supposed to be brunch at a local golf club restaurant but we got invited to Kathy's and we get to see
Isaac instead. Yay! So a road trip is in order and we will take my MIL too. She hasn't been to Kathy's house yet. Isaac had his doctor apt. and he weighs 12 lb 10 oz. All on breastfeeding.

    Have a good weekend all!

Even though the evening is coming to an end, TGIF!!! I've been wanting to say that all week. Busy day and I'm having a hard time at work getting organized to accomplish things at my desk when I'm there for only a short time. I can't seem to organize myself and stay on track like I could when I was younger. Boo Hoo!

My 7:30 visit canceled this morning. Her Dad died last night :'( They were packing to leave town. My next appointment may be moving to Texas so I don't know if I'll have continued visits with him or not. My 3rd student was a hoot! I bet we played with Potato Head family for 45 minutes and I was able to get lots of single words and two word phrases both in imitation and spontaneously, yay! On the flip side, I met a new family and student this afternoon. Whoa! Dirty house, dirty kids, strange people. I share him with a teacher and we are going to go together for safety precautions and only twice per month. Quite the week...

I spent the evening researching places to stay in Door County, Wisconsin for peak fall color in October. I've always wanted to go there and have heard it is similar to the county I'm from in Michigan (straight across Lake Michigan from Door County). Cherry orchards, vineyards, small villages along the coast, beautiful scenery. I want to check it out because we may want to head to that area to live in retirement. Not far from Milwaukee, Chicago and Madison. Easy trip to Mpls. if any of my kids still live here. Jeff would be the only one. I don't foresee David or Rory settling down in Mpls. or MN. So anyway, I booked a place to stay and we are going there 10/12-10/15 for 3 nights away to color peep and explore.

Fish fry sounds wonderful Shirley! Love fish! I just got a pedicure too so my feet feel good.
Marla- I hope you have a fun and restful weekend. Your boys are growing up! Nice pic on FB.
Hi Ang! Good luck tomorrow on you run!

    Sleep well,

Going down to the boat today. A beautiful day, sunny and already 72F.

Jenny - Sounds like work is kicking your butt and you need some down time.

Marla - I have to see your pic on FB. Have a good weekend with the family.

Ang - Good luck on the run!
