Morning! Another beautiful one here, love it. I guess you appreciate Spring and the good weather so much more when you've had a long and stormy winter.

Last night I got out for a 6K walk after supper. I went to town in the morning for groceries and in the afternoon i cleaned out my pantry cupboard. Holy...something that should have been done a LONG time ago! I got rid of a ton of outdated stuff. Got to try to keep that from happening again :)

I am undecided on what to do today. It will either be a run or a strength workout. I am a bit scared to try a run, I pulled my calf muscle (the one I always have trouble with) on Saturday during the big move. It feels quite a bit better now but I feel like I should wait a few more days. I guess I can still get in a good strength workout.

Maureli- I bet it feels good to get that pantry cleaned out! I should probably do that. :). I would err on the side of caution when it comes to injuries. If something was hurt, I usually give it a good amount of time to recover. I figure a bigger injury is worse then missing a few runs!

Sherry - When I improve my stride in my run, it has to be small and slow steps. Otherwise I become miserable and dread running. So I like to focus on one small thing (kick higher, make sure I'm doing a mid foot strike, etc.) and focus on that for weeks before I move on to something else. So I like your idea. Keep it fun and therapeutic!

Laura - my hubby cares for my bike, but has sat down and walked me through the basic things I need to know. Some things (brake wires, etc) I can't do, but I don't bother learning because I can't fix them during a race anyway. So the big maintanance my hubby does for me. But chain stuff, changing a flat...those I did learn to do. I saw that you do have a stress reaction in your femur. How long do you have to stay off of it?

Maureen - Allergies are pretty nasty. I have to take a Zyrtec daily to keep mine from making me want to die! Hopefully they get better soon!

These past few weeks and coming week or two are busy, busy, busy! It's the end of the school year so it seems like constant meetings, ceremonies, and events that I have to go to. I'm trying to keep my training up, but realistically I had to cut myself some slack and know that I won't be able to train intensively the next couple of weeks. I'm not a pro...I have real life stuff that I can't ignore, and that's okay! This morning I plan to do my weight lifting. Probably all I will get in today. Tomorrow I usually go swimming, but have a school event and meetings that will probably prevent that from happening. But I will try to get a nice long bike ride in.

    Happy hump day!

Oh DH is leaving in the morning and it's been crazy around here. But I have a list of things to do while he's gone and I'll be adding clearing the pantry to that now, lol. I already told him that it might get really windy and all the glass bottles on the balcony might accidentally blow over and get broken and have to be tossed. ;-) he keeps them for olive oil but never cleans them up or sends them to who he should send to, to use them.

val, it's that damn mid foot strike that's getting me. I don't over stride and land on my heel, but I swear I feel like I land on my whole foot, not the ball. When I try to get to the ball of my foot, it feels more like a sprint and obv my calves get really sore. For now I'm going to try to lean from my ankles more, slightly higher knees, and open my stride a bit, and *hope* that the landing works itself out.

Marla, I think I have that drip thing going and it drives me crazy. Hope you get cleared up.

Laura, hope you've been managing okay with the leg. :-(

Today I ran one of my old routes and it was still misery. Not as bad as the track, but I only made about 25 minutes. It was just too hot. I'm afraid I'm going to have to start running on the treadmill at the gym. I've never run on a treadmill before and don't want to. :-( it's just so hot. Getting to and from the gym will really cut into my running time too. First, I might try to buy a pair of shorts (God help) and see if that helps since my running pants are super hot. :-/
