WRONG DIRECTION!!! But thinking it's more water weight from my weekend choices. Yesterday, unsure why but I was EXHAUSTED. Literally falling asleep on the drive home. I worked out but I know I didn't go as deep or hard on the TRX as I normally do. I was asleep on the couch when hubby came home just before 930. I went upstairs very shortly after and didn't hear my phone ring when my daughter called at 10. I am still tired this morning.

This past weekend was my nemesis. Friday night, dinner out. Saturday - lunch was fast food chicken strips with dinner being fast food chines (no rice or noodles - steamed veggies, spare ribs and shanghai steak - sodium alone off the charts) Sunday I taught a CPR class so had a bistro box from Starbucks (38g of carbs for egg, muesli bread, grapes aple..ugh) and then of course too tired to cook or go out...so frozen pizza. Only 1150 in overall calories, but the carbs were over 100g NET.

Weather was nutty crazy last night. We've hit our first 100 deg temps this past weekend. Last night after my workout...I was going to push myself to walk the neighborhood to get my 10k steps in, but the wind was whipping like crazy and then huge raindrops. And ya know, I just wasn't feeling it, so I allowed that to stop me from completing that small goal. I have no good reason, just excuses.

The next few weekends are going to be very challenging for me, so I am working on a positive plan of attack. This weekend being mothers day, my son and daughter in law will be staying with us. We have a group bowling event Sat afternoon, followed by a friends bday celebration at the piano bar that eve. Mothers day will have Avengers movie in AM followeed by either restaurant or grilling at home. The next couple of weekends are very similar to this coming weekend. Planning on no liquor at piano bar and I know what dinner works with my program. Going to be hard to resist nachos at bowling...I won't order, but I can bet someone will order them. Eating a healthy lunch before we head over so hoping that helps resist the urge to have a bit or two.

Sarah - I know you mentioned the class was for county employees only, but is there a gym or center where you can do one of those HIIT classes also?

Kelly - We need to get you outta your funk and back on track.

Sheesh - are you relaxing on the golf course? I can't beleive we let Kelly win the weekend warrior with only 27k steps!!!

Cheryl - I know you've got dragon boat stuff going, but you've got to keep checking in my friend. No falling off the radar just because you're playing in the water....we'll have to use that paddle of yours for something else. CHECK IN!

Light - welcome back...we've missed you and hope you'll be checking in more actively as well.

I can really relate to the lack of energy, Lois. I'm feeling the same way myself. I've always been one of those people who wake up feeling ready to go--but not lately. This morning I had to get up and dressed early and haul some things to the end of the driveway for a special trash pickup that hubby scheduled before he knew he'd be out of town. I work up, stood up, and thought--oh, no. I just need to lie down again. That is not my normal self.

Last night I met a coworker and we took a walk by the lake. She got tired before I did, and I was a bit disappointed that she wanted to stop so soon since the area where we were walking was not somewhere I wanted to walk alone. But yet--by the time I ran one errand and got home--I was pooped! Is it the season change? Going from chilly wet weather to hot and sticky? Pollen? Work stress? Or do I have--what is that old term--"Iron poor tired blood?"

I think it's time to start taking vitamins again and trying to get a little more sleep.

Oh, and I second that call out to Cheryl.

ARGH!!! Well, the weekend did it to me. Friday, Sat, Sun hubby and I were focused on springtime stuff around here . . cleaning the garage, yard work, clearing out some closets and drawers. It's amazing how few actual steps those chores render, but (as Sarah pointed out) it's tiring in a different way. Lois, you're right that I should have found a way to get more steps in at the same time. Instead, my back hurt and I always drink alcohol when that happens, LOL! (It seems to relax the muscles, ha ha! My kids always tease me that "it's medicinal, right Mom?") But, I'm back on track so far this week.

Lois, all the "social" food is such a hard one! When I go out, I TRY to look at my plate and divide it in half mentally. Really, that's all we need. The portions served are way too big! If you hate wasting food (I do) then take the rest home for another meal. I don't believe any food is really "bad". There are better choices for dieting, of course. But, if you can't choose, then just eat a smaller portion. It's so hard. I only wish I could follow this all the time. Your idea of eating a healthy snack prior to going out is a great idea. The hunger does me in!! And, working out like we are really makes us hungrier.

Sarah, I wish I had more energy these days. I really have to pace myself with everything I do these days. . Can't go all day long like I used to. If you find a supplement, please share! :)

Light, it's good to see you here posting. I really enjoy your Facebook posts . . especially the beautiful orchids and flowers you can grow there!

Cheryl. . . where are you? I don't see you on the Fitbit challenge this week.

Kelly, I've never been much of a hockey fan . . but because of you, I watched some games :) Fun stuff! I love sports, and I actually won the NCAA March madness bracket pool we play in. I won almost $300!! I was the only one who had the final four teams correct, and the only person in the pool to pick Duke to win. Beat the hubby, too! That made it the MOST fun!! LOL! Sarah, I hope the Nats and the Giants do well this year!

Keep moving, and have a great week.

Wow...brutal! Wake up call! That's it... I'm feeling motivated today. I've completely just fallen off the health wagon. My fitbit died last night and I didn't have my cord, so it's charging right now and missed out on my steps this morning. I guess that means I'll just have to pretend they didn't happen!

It appears I'm not the only one struggling. Sarah - I really do think it's the change of season. Going from Winter, to Spring and to Summer (for Lois), is hard on the body no matter what time of year it is. We WERE in the middle of Spring, with buds finally showing up on the trees here in the northern part of my province, but today.. a Winter Storm Watch is in affect and we're expecting 15 cms of snow, which is then supposed to turn into freezing rain and ice pellets. That'll make for an interesting drive home tomorrow. At least at home, the weather is a bit more normal.

No excuses! Time to get back at it!

Sheesh - awesome news about the pool that you won!

Lois - I'm having the same problem with eating too many carbs. Time to shake it off and eat more protein.

    Light - Welcome back!

Time to go log my breakfast!

Blah... I'm feeling fat and super bloated today. Normally I would just chug water all day long to get rid of it, but it's supposed to be a travel day home for me. I'm kind of in limbo as the weather isn't good, so we might get stuck here. I usually don't drink a ton when I'm driving, as the 8 hour drive is long enough without having to stop 100 times to pee.

I hope your day goes well!

    Morning, all,

I remembered to weigh yesterday, but then the day exploded and I didn't get a chance to log.

    LW: 145.4
    TW: 145.0

So still maintaining. Keep doing what you're doing and you keep getting what you're getting!

As I was wading through papers in my office last night, I found something my doc had given me in 2011. It call all my stats from my visit, such as heart rate, BP, and--weight. I weighed 131. Oh why, oh why did I let them 14 pounds creep back?

Hubby arrived back from Seattle around 12:30 this morning, and we didn't get to bed until 2 a.m., so I slept until almost 8 a.m. Good thing that I telework. But I really need to get my days and nights turned around so I can walk before work.

Kelly, it seemed like winter would never end here in MD, but when it did, it went from winter straight into summer. I have decided that I like cold weather better than hot weather, but honestly--what happened to cool or warm? Is there nothing in between? Hope you soon get some springtime temps up there.

Well, it's been a busy work week for me, but it's calming down now we are fully staffed again. Yeah! Still worked some extra hours which kept me from getting housework done (so that's what my plans are for this weekend :P housework, hanging a couple of light fixtures, redoing a popcorn ceiling on the back porch and painting the house are on my current list of things I need to do as well) but I didn't let it keep me from getting to the gym for a swim. Counting Sunday, I made it 3 times as planned. YEAH! Hoping that will help build back some overall muscle tone as well as burning those calories.
Last weigh in, I mentioned a big gain which I thought was mostly water weight, well, I'm down over 4 lbs so I feel most of that is that same water weight. I was really into salty snacks for a few days there...

I really do need to get serious with getting this weight off, though. Now's as good a time as any to get back on track and not let the heat and rain of summer deter me. Just do it.
