Has anyone noticed an increase in sex drive going low carb? I have zero sex drove....have not had one since I was probably 19 and I'm now 33. My doctor won't check my hormones because of my age. I'm hoping a greater desire one of the many benefits of LC.

Feeling less bloated and 'heavy' in the evenings helps! Plus feeling sexier in your skin.0

It has sure made a difference with both of us on LC.0

Yep I posted about this last week too lol. It's like a night and day difference. Someone mentioned to me that it could be from your hormones leveling out. Plus feeling better about your self as you lose. Though last time I lost not doing low carb I did not notice any change in sex drive.
On another post I read that dietary fat aids in a healthy libido, so maybe because we are eating more fat than before0 -
I chalked it up to just feeling better about myself and never really thought about hormones being affected by this WOE. But now that you mention it...hmm. What a cool side effect!!0

Yes! What a happy bonus. I won't insult my poor husband by announing our previous lack of sex, but I have noticed that I think about sex daily now and we manage to get around to it more often now.0

No and no... Darn it0

Like I mentioned before, hormones are very much interdependent. LC eating should lower the insulin response and help with a correction across the board, especially for those of us who are already out of whack (hello, PCOS!).
And yeah, feeling better about yourself sure does help, too!0 -
Hehe, yeah, that happened. I will add that this way of eating helped counteract the lack of drive depo creates. Really hormones across the board get better.0

I had low testosterone before I started keto, so yeah, things improved for me for sure.0

Amongst the many YouTubes I watched in my early Keto days I remember seeing 2 guys discuss this. One told the other that a high fat diet most certainly made changes in women's libido. He put it down to sufficient fat in the diet telling the body there is no famine and it's a perfect time to reproduce... next step, off to the bedroom. Whether this was his theory, or whether he was quoting a study I can't remember.
Personal experience (never sure if people want to know about older folks or if it's TMI) there does seem to be an improvement in a couple of factors. We're both LC. I'm Keto. We've always been a very loving couple anyway though, so it's not like we've gone from zero to full-on from this WOE; just improved markers on several counts0 -
My husband (that's him in the photo) always wants sex even at his weight, and I never do, so he is certainly hoping my sex drive will increase as I lose! LOL!
As for his weight, it might play a part in my lack of desire, but I don't even fantasize about other fit men, so who knows. I got him started on LC but he seems to struggle with the HF part and is increasing his protein instead. I warn him about kidney problems if he does that. He is a trucker on the road, and eats canned food (chicken, tuna) mostly. I got him to drop the bread, rice cakes, and rice and I told him to get nuts and olive oil, mayo, etc. to up the fat. (He has no way to keep food like cheese cold.) I also tell him to grab a double cheeseburger (sans bun) on the road once in a while, too. I guess we will see when he gets home next time if he lost any weight. And whether my sex drive has returned!0 -
Well, for your husband's sake, I hope it does return.0
