bad weekend-BIG cheat.

I can't believe how weak I was this weekend. I'm dog sitting for some friends while they are overseas and started off great...planned and brought food for my stay. Then came Sunday...took all 4 dogs for a walk before more rain set in, slipped on a patch of mud and totally bit it. Bloody skinned knee and twisted ankle...had to sit out of the squat challenge that day. Between the achy leg and rain, I then proceeded to binge on Netflix (The League)...which resulted in me eating pizza and icecream. I was/am disgusted with myself. I woke up Monday feeling gross mentally and physically...ate within my carbs, but not my calories (still kinda ate like crap though) and just feel defeated overall. Still beating myself up over it. Luckily they don't have a scale at their place so I can't see what damage I've done. I just can't believe that I allowed myself to do that.

Consider it an experiment in carb refeeding. Get on the scale and see how much water weight you gained. Then see how quickly you lose it again. Next time you see pizza, you'll remember how you felt.
I did a similar, ehrm, experiment myself this weekend. I'll post results when it's over, but I still can't get over the BLOATING and GAS. I think I produced enough methane to warm the planet by a couple degrees.0 -
Too funny, but I can relate to the bloating/gas...I felt bad blasting all the dogs in bed last night. I think the guilt and shame I feel is worse than the physical reaction. I have to pop home tonight, so maybe I'll pick up my scale and use your advice to treat this as an experiment.0

Right there with you except that I blew out on oatmeal, alcohol & corn chips. It started with pita bread Saturday and kind of went downhill from there. I am up 3 pounds. Hoping to get back into ketosis in a couple of days, again. *sigh*0

My advice to you, don't dwell on the past. The more time and energy you spend feeling bad and beating yourself up for eating off plan for a day the less you have to feel good about what you have accomplished so far! Always focus on the positive! Everyone's human. So you ate carbage for a day, but YOU have the power, control, and knowledge to get back on track and overcome this hiccup! Are you going to let it stop you? Are you going to give up? NO WAY! (cuz we won't let you! ) The past is past, live in the now, for the future!0

I've been doing this for 6 months, was cruising nicely and just had a whole week like this. In the long run, it's barely a blip on the radar but I get you, I felt awful too. I was up 1.5kg but after 2 days 1kg of that is gone so it's obviously just water weight. We can do this!!!! One foot in front of the other.
