Hello all! I am happily married, no kids, with two part time jobs. I am going back to school to finally finish my Bachelor's degree. I love watching horror movies when I am not doing homework.

It is hard to believe I turned 40 this year. For the most part, I don't feel any different. I didn't suddenly learn the meaning of life, but I have become more comfortable with myself and my own opinions. I look at 20-somethings and thank my lucky stars that I am out of that phase of my life. I still have a few friends in their 20s and 30s, but I really enjoy hanging out with those close to my age. They get my 90s movie references!

Most of my friends say that I do not appear overweight. I see a need for improvement. As I fell out of the habit of logging food, I have had to buy bigger pants. I would like to get healthy again so that I will have the energy to lead an active lifestyle. I would love to lose 40 pounds so that I can fit into smaller clothes. Most importantly, I want to be STRONG. Toned muscles are more important to me than the number on the scale.

Over the last few months, I ran out of money for my gym membership and my weight began creeping back on. Recently, I got a second job. I can finally afford to go back to the gym. Yea! My local Y is offering free initiation this month, so I will be re-joining soon.

In the past, I have lost weight with consistent logging on MFP and regular gym visits. A few years ago, I completed my first half marathon. I used to belong to a CrossFit gym before I ran out of money. I do LOVE fitness, but I have found that I need to constantly change things up so that I don't get bored.

Time to get back to doing what works! My biggest challenge will be limiting my drinking. It is easy for me to go overboard with booze. I can't seem to remember that my 40 year old body can't party like my 20 year old body could.

I am looking for friends in their 40s who visit MFP on a daily basis. Please send me a message and tell me a bit about yourself. Let's encourage each other in this fabulous phase of our lives!

I just turned 40 last year. Similarly it wasn't a found the meaning of life event, I have 3 boys and they are very active. I just found I was having a hard time keeping up with them. I don't consider myself overweight. When I got serious about MFP again I weighed in at 218, but looking at me you wouldn't know it (it carries well
