What are your plans after Insanity? Crossfit Feedback?

Has anyone considered what program to do after Insanity is over? I wanted to get a personal trainer so I could get into weight lifting with proper form. I was going to do that and incorporate some Insanity month 2 workouts as well.

But now I'm considering doing Crossfit. I feel now that my body is in the best shape ever and that I have the endurance to do high intensity workouts, I might as well do Crossfit now rather than later. I don't know too much about crossfit though, but I am going to look into it this week. That would also save me a lot of money with the personal trainer :)

Do you think I should give my body a rest and do something less intense, or should I stay on the same track with these high intensity workouts?

I've been thinking about that one video Chelean Extreme, but I'm not sure. I do know I would like to keep some cardio incorporated in whatever I decide. I keep forgetting I have the Deluxe edition of Insanity & I probably need to do that.

I've read somewhere that you should give your body a bit of a rest before diving into something strenuous. I am thinking along the same lines as you are. I definitely feel stronger than I have in a long while! I'm happy with the way I feel, as well as the way my body is changing & starting to look. I can see more definition in my arms, back, legs ... & my face is thinning out a bit. It's nice to see a change! As gradual as it has been, I'm excited to think ahead & look forward to setting a new goal!

I'm way behind on this convo but I was curious what everyone is doing next too. I looked into crossfit before, but it was actually really expensive (for me), which is why I opted for insanity. I've been thinking about doing p90x next. I've done all the workouts before, but bever followed the program. I felt before I didn't have the upper body strength or just general stamina to make it through, but those darn level 2 drills have been whipping my biceps into shape lol. Has anyone had p90x success?

P90X also seems tempting but I think I'll do that later in the year or even next year. I am going to do some weight lifting after Insanity and a lot more outdoor activities for the summer (hiking, paddle boarding, and rock climbing). I'm kind of tired of working out in my room - I need a change of scenery :)

P90X is an awesome program, hell of a time commitment though. most regular days are about an hour, followed by an additional 16 minutes of ab ripper X. I just did Yoga X @ 1 hour 32+ minutes! great program...if you have the time, if not, X3 are all 30 minute routines.

I think it's funny how many people complain about 1 hour workouts or 1.5 hour workouts being so long. If I went to the gym, it would take me a total of 2.5-3 hours! Gotta get dressed, drive there, park, put stuff in locker, wait for machines, workout, drink protein shake, and get home and jump in the shower. If I'm at home - press play, workout, drink protein shake, jump in shower.

LOL! some people would complain about not having anything to complain about. just thought i'd give a heads up on the time commitment. you sound like you have the right attitude about it. go for it!

Oh haha I didn't mean that directly at you. You just reminded me of how many times I heard that the workouts are so long.

Good insights!! I didn't know about X3. Summer is always so busy with other things that may be the perfect option!

it's cool, I didn't take it that way. I hear the complaints all the time. "I don't have time for that". I'm all like "get up earlier", and I get "I'M NOT DOING THAT!"...(shrugs). :)

@KingsGirl4 I'm dying to hear all about your results! Are you finished up with Insanity? I soooo wish I was closer, but I can deal with a two week setback. Yesterday I (re)started recovery week & I felt weak during it but I'm counting down the days to when I'm at the finish line!
@julyskb ... gam3rguy is a beast! From what I've seen him post he's pretty knowledgeable about a lot of workouts! It would be safe to say he's nearly done it all, lol!

It sucks to get sick in the middle of great progress but it takes a lot of courage to get right back up! Props to you @amdawells!

Oh, honey ... you're telling me! It was so frustrating I just wanted to cry! In all honesty I thought about starting over, from the beginning. Then I thought maybe if I went back to recovery week it would be okay. I've come so far & I can't give up now! It sucks doing so well, then having a setback. I think if I hadn't been sick, next week would have been my last week. :'( Oh, well ... I'll get there! I've got you to help me!

I really admire you. I am not as strong as you to just pick up where I left off. I'm sort of a "perfectionist" when it comes to starting a program and I either have to follow it to a T or quit - it's one extreme or another. So good for you to just keep going where you left off. I wish I had that strength (I'm working on it ;)

Don't feel rushed at all. Just take it one day at a time. Don't get overwhelmed by how many days left because before you know it, you're done!!!

@KingsGirl4 I appreciate that! I'm the same way. It was difficult, very difficult. Then I thought about how far I've come & I couldn't just start over. Each day I remember how close I am to my goal & it gets easier! :)
