Have you seen a change?

Where have you seen a change in your body so far since starting Insanity? I can definitely see a change in my arms, waistline, upper legs my trapezius muscles. I can feel my abs becoming stronger, but that pesky baby fat layer is hiding them, lol.

@ Amdawells- how far into the program are you? I am starting week 2 post-recovery week tomorrow. I see a difference in my legs and arms/shoulders. I, too, am annoyed by the layer of baby weight I haven't been able to shed yet and starting to feel a bit frustrated the scale isn't budging!

@julyskb I'm in my sixth week starting today. I really have seen a change in my body, but not as much as I would like to see directly under my belly button. I've lost quite a bit of fat though! I haven't measured myself lately but the last time I checked was three weeks ago, I think, & I had lost a total of 8" from when I started. I'm going to take some new measurement today. I'm a little excited to see how much more I've lost.
I do have to admit that sometimes I forget to tighten my ab muscles when doing the workout. I get so focused on my form I tend to forget to do that. I have been making a better effort lately to remember to do that. Other than that I can say with 100% certainty I've stuck with it from the beginning! I'm pretty proud of that!
Have you thought about what you would like to do after Insanity? I keep forgetting that I have the Deluxe set, but I'm not sure how to incorporate them in with what I'm doing now. There's three extra DVD's I could use; Upper body weight training, Insane abs, & Max interval sports training & insane abs (on the same disk). I thought that was a little redundant, but whatever. I'm sure I'll give them a try on a day I have some extra energy & feeling ambitious. :D

Sorry I am just replying! I'm so impressed you stuck with it 100%. I fell off the wagon about a week ago- I'm in Houston and we had some flooding + were already in the middle of renovating our kitchen. I about lost my mind. Im so mad/sad I didn't do a better job of sticking with it! Im starting back tomorrow and decided I will just start month 2. That's so encouraging you've had such great results! Congrats!!
I have been toying around with the idea of doing P90x after this. We have owned the program for years but before I have not felt I've had the upper body strength/ general stamina to get through the workouts. I definitely see improvements in my strength so I am interested to give it a go again. Maybe after that I'll do insanity again!
I have the deluxe pkg too and have done the weight lifting one. I like it a lot, but it feels like a totally different workout than all the huffing and puffing with the regular cardio DVDs. I liked it though because I woke up feeling sore after I did it (the good- I worked out hard- kinda sore) :)

@julyskb So sorry I just saw your reply! After all of my boasting I caught a nasty head cold (compliments of my son) & had to take some time off. I was so excited to be following through & dedicating my time to the whole thing, then BAM! I always disliked it when people made excuses as to why they weren't able to continue, but in all honesty if I even bent over to tie my shoes I felt like my head was going to explode! The following week was a little better, but I was dizzy & felt so tired. Then last Wednesday I felt a pop in my right calf as I was stepping down from a step. *Sob story ends here*
Anyhow, this is a new week! I went back to recovery week just to ease back into this insanity, lol. I'm going to finish this thing & make the most of it! I hope you are doing well on your journey! Let me know how it's going for you! I would love to hear how you're doing!

I am lol not at your unfortunate series of events but because I am the exact same! Excuses, excuses....and then I'm full of them! I started back this week in earnest and thought about doing recovery week again but decided against it. Oh my goodness- this second month is so hard! BUT I also think it's where the serious results will be. I feel like month 1 must have been getting you in shape for month 2.
I don't know about you, but once I lost my everyday streak it got hard to do it daily again. Like now that I can't say I followed the program perfectly what's the point? I know this is awful logic, but...what can I say?
All of this to say I am really sticking with it for the next month. I should finish right around my wedding anniversary so that's my incentive ;)

I feel the EXACT same way! Insanity really tests your commitment. Especially if you have never followed a workout this intense. After the two weeks I was off, I wanted to start all over again. After reading comments from MFP friends I followed their advice & just went back a few weeks. It was difficult, yes, but I'm so glad I did. I felt as if I did start over from the beginning. I had to keep in mind that taking a break was the right thing to do in order to get better. I'm sure no one has ever died from working out while sick, lol, but I felt like total crap. Even after that break I still had dizzy spells & felt light headed but I pushed through after a few seconds. Currently, I am on month two, week two (tomorrow.) I have stuck to the everyday workout for the exception of one day. (My daughter wanted to go for a run so I didn't do one of my recovery workouts.)
So, I'm happy to hear I'm not alone in feeling like this! The one thing I did notice was that I felt stronger starting out on month two than I did the first go around ... & I was able to keep up with less breaks trying to catch my breath, lol.
I hope you are doing well! Let me know how you're doing & maybe we can help each other push through!

Sorry I have been MIA (again)! That's awesome you went back a few weeks and have continued pushing through!

I've officially not followed the program for about 6 weeks now. I've done a workout here and there but was feeling awful. Turns out I'm expecting! Yay! I got the ok from my doc on Friday to keep doing insanity so I think I am just going to start over. For one, the 40 min workouts seem way more appealing to me right now (yay first trimester :( ). And two, I feel like I have lost my momentum and just need to start again. We will see how it goes!

How are you? are you almost done? How are your results?

Sorry, I just saw your post! Congratulations on your fantastic news!! I'm so excited for you!! That's so wonder that you're able to keep working out during your pregnancy. I wish I would have been fit going into all three of mine ... I gained so much weight during.

I'm doing alright on my workouts. Insanity has proved to be a good fit for me. Although, last weekend I became really frustrated for something entirely aside from the program & took a week off. To save you a sob story, I'll just leave it at that, lol! I'm starting the second to the last week, tomorrow. I'll be more focused & ready to put this Insanity behind me.

It was really great hearing from you!
