Rough Couple Days

Had a family birthday dinner at Lucille's last night. One major win, I didn't eat the delicious rolls!! I had a side salad, corn chowder soup, some of my husband's chicken and two bites of his tri-tip. It's much easier when the restaurant has posted calories I can choose from. Also had a cocktail, which I normally wouldn't do, but I had a recent surgery and in order for me to sit comfortably at dinner, it was kind of necessary. Oi.
I might have to switch my weigh in day to Fridays. I always seem to slip a little over the weekend, and weighing in on Friday gives me all week to catch up. We'll see. Yesterday I was 2lbs down from Monday's weigh in. Today I was up which makes it harder for me to stay on track the rest of the day. I'm working on it..

I think it's important to be about to enjoy family gatherings like that and feel guilty about it. You did a great job with your food choices at a restaurant that is very easy to not do as well. Passing on those biscuits is a HUGE win.
I know the Monday weigh-in is tough after the weekend but I figure in the long run it's all the same, right? Although whatever we need to do to be successful is what we need to do so you should weigh in on whatever day works best for you!
I haven't seen any change on the scale yet this week so I'm afraid I'm going to be posting a net loss of zero on Monday or worse! But we'll see and I'm certainly not giving up! I can definitely relate to how being up makes it harder to stay on track. These tricks our mind plays on us are terrible!
Thanks for sharing and congrats on keeping the birthday dinner under control. I can't say I would have had the same willpower there. Those biscuits alone! Way to go!0 -
Thank you CatAlii!! Your words are so encouraging!!! Yesterday started of rough, falling into the feeling like I blew it mode, which just created more eating. I pulled it together and stayed under calorie goal. This morning I'm down 1.4 from Monday, so if I work it. I can totally be down a whole 2 by tomorrow.
You're right, the weigh in day really doesn't matter as long as the game is to always beat the prior week.
You're still totally in the game. Lots of water today and don't eat past 6:30pm and you should at least drop .2 or .4. down is down and we'll take it, right!?!?0 -
This is just a thought but i really count on Mondays for weighing in. I also have a hard time with the weekends but if i am not weighing in on Monday it gives me feeling like i can cheat because i am not weighing in. Even though i don't look forward to Mondays and stepping on the scale it does keep me accountable for the weekend and if i didn't lose its all on me.
We got this Ladies, like you said it only matters with the long term numbers.
Have a great Sunday stay0 -
Yesterday was an overage day of calories for me, as I did indulge a bit, I know the Monday weigh-in kept me from going bazerk. Weekends have always been more of a challenge for me in staying on track. It's important to remember "one day at a time", and continue moving forward~0

I agree with all of you-the Monday weigh in just prevented me from getting donuts on the way home. I went to farmers market this morning and bought ingredients to make my favorite salad - mixed greens, quinoa, red onion, slivered almonds, dried cranberries, and goat cheese. I also got a bunch of nectarines from my favorite stone fruit farmer. And fresh eggs and salmon. So hopefully I'll do a better job of eating healthier this week, especially my fruits and veggies!
cindileeb - thank you for the suggestion to not eat after 6:30pm tonight. I will give that a try!

We got this ladies!!! And yes, you are all right about the Monday weigh in, and that's why I liked Friday cause I didnt need to worry. But I suppose spending the week getting ahead instead of catching up willl be nice!!!
Cat, ha, I don't even catch your typo. I used to just have a cinema
Vanilla late the night before weigh in, it always worked.
I found this thing, 40 tips to get skinny, I typed it and hung it on my fridge. One of them that I am trying is to wait till your stomach growls before you reach for food.... I don't think I had actually truly been hungry for years LOL0
