I can't believe I'm starting the weekly weigh-in on Wednesday. Hope this only means that folks are busy, and I hope busy with good things. Since my weight spiked on weigh-in day last week and was probably due to a high sodium meal, I'm using the day-after weight for last week. It's more realistic.

Let me tell you--I had a "oh, yeah" moment last night. Because of all my work woes and having the long medical appointment yesterday, we decided to grab dinner our while running an errand. We went to a restaurant that we like and that seems to have healthy food. Since the last time we were there, they have added calories to the menu. The waiter said they were required to do this once they had three locations. Anyway, there was not one entrée that was under 900 calories and most had 1100-1400. I ordered a veggie burger and side salad (more than a thousand calories for the two), and I ate half of the burger. Yikes. And to think--when I ate there before and tried to estimate the meals using the BodyMedia database, I had to be way, way off. They must add a ton of fats and sugars to their food. And it looks and sounds so healthy. It's no wonder that Americans are getting so big!

I just saw this thread Sarah!! (After I started one too . . . sorry. It was down lower on the board.) Congratulations on your loss! And, yeah, restaurant food is about double home cooked. I think they add fat to make everything more flavorful . . and salt! It's impossible to lose weight if you eat out a lot. Maddening!

well, that would certainly contribute to the failure to lose weight even when one thinks they are eating healthy, huh? congrats on the weight loss though :)
