Kitchen scale... Use em?

I just dragged mine out yesterday for the first time since measuring hot tub chemicals last year...lol. I did it because I was having steak and I have no idea what an ounce looks like. Whoa have I been eating more than I was logging! I would have said 4-5 oz...it was 7.5!! Will be using it more now!0

I use mine for all meats and high calorie stuff to make sure I log it right.

I always use mine when I'm at home... it helps me guestimate better when I eat out too.0

I use it every single time I eat. Just like I weigh myself every day. Others don't need to, but I do. Because it's so easy for me to kid myself about what I'm eating or how I'm doing weight-wise.....and before I know it, I've regained my lost weight. I feel better about myself and what I'm doing when I keep myself very accountable. I even bought 3 extra tablespoons so that we always have them at the ready (for olive oil) etc! I expect I will have to be this strict with myself for the rest of my life, if I want to keep the weight off, given my 50-year (out of my 59 years) history of weight issues. But it's really okay -- if that's what it takes, that's what I'll do!0

I use it particular for meats. I can't always tell the difference between 5oz and 3oz just by sight, and varies on the type of meat too. I use mine several times per day. It's part of my routine. I even weigh out my butter. I'm getting pretty good at estimating a 12g piece of butter for my coffee, but I still weigh it. I don't want to overdo portions and start to gain weight. I'm on a mission !0

I use the scale, measuring cups and measuring spoons. If something says 5 grams, I weigh it, if it says 3/4 I measure it, same with the spoons, yes probably after awhile you may be able to guess, but, then how many of us are on a return program, because we think we "got this". :-)0

Preplanning also helps. I make my menu up for the next day on MFP, the print out just food part and have it in my kitchen for reference, That saves a lot of time.0

I have an old analog one, originally bought to weigh kittens I think. I'll probably buy a nicer digital one soon. I consider it an essential, but I'm a weird girl. I'll eat 14 grams of salami and think it was 28!0

I do, for the items I don't measure out. There are days or occasions that I can't, but doing it on a regular basis helps me better eye ball things than I would if I ignored the scale.0
