I can't believe I'm starting the weigh-in thread. I'm usually the one who is bringing up the rear. I'm so stuck. You ladies must be disgusted with me. The only thing I can say is that I'm convinced that if I wasn't logging here, my weight would not be stuck, but would be back where I started.

Today I had to go get the temporary crown taken off a molar and the permanent one put on. It's always hard to get my bite right when I get any kind of restorative work, so it took longer than I had planned. Just in case, I started early, so didn't get out to walk before work, and the appointment and drive took my lunch break plus the extra time, so I have to get some walking done tonight. Hubby's neck is acting up again and my walking buddy goes to church on Wednesdays, so I need to get myself motivated to go it alone.

I guess we'd all better set our heads the best we can to not go too badly off course during the coming holiday weekend. We don't have plans as yet that should mess me up too much. I think a bar-b-que with the neighbors, some pool time, and maybe having over some young folks we met doing volunteer work may be it. The younger crowd are vegetarians and vegans. That should be a challenge!

Oh boy. And here comes the holiday weekend, too. Hubby's brother and his wife are coming in from Phoenix for the 4th, so we have plans with them for the weekend. Daughter (who lives in SLC) will be out of town with her boyfriend, daughter in Portland is still in the moving process (the closing on the loan was delayed) and we'll be traveling there later this month. Son in Cali is taking care of PREGNANT wifey :) Yes, I'm going to be a grandma again . . . a little boy <3 She's having a little trouble with this pregnancy. She has placenta previa, so they're taking extra precautions and lots of ultra sounds. I'll be traveling to help her soon. (Her mother lives in southern Utah, and is still working.) So, lots going on in our family. And, really hard to focus on weight loss . . but I simply must. I'm really feeling it in my clothes.

Lois, you're doing great at keeping all the balls in the air . . and still finding some time for exercise and cooking healthy.

Sarah, congrats on the loss! And, yes, I'm going to focus on not going completely off the rails this holiday weekend.

    Happy Independence Day Weekend!

No, seems like I'm always the one bringing up the rear, or not making it here at all  and then when I get here, I have a ton to read and end up writing a book. uggh. It's hard to balance it all, get the exercising and steps in, log the food and still get here to post. Lois, don't know how you are doing it all but it looks like you are still holding your own for now. Hopefully MIL will be steadily improving.

No big plans for the 4th other than cleaning this weekend and attending a potluck after church on Sunday. I've pretty much decided I'm going to take the grilled chicken the church is cooking up and add it to salad, making a nice, healthy meal which doesn't allow room for a lot of the other sides. We'll see how it goes. There may be a bite of this and a bite of that and it's those BLT's that get you... (bites, licks, tastes)... I'm bringing dessert to help my resolve around the other dessert yummies (sugar free pistachio pudding added to lite cool whip- yumm :) ) Other than that, I am making a concerted effort to do a little cooking ahead this weekend to get me thru next week, plus adding some walks in since I will be off. Not always easy to do what you know you need to do sometimes.

It's slow, but it's in the right direction.

Sarah, I think you are letting life discourage you... and you did lose this week :) I think you need a new motto, imo. Do what you can, when you can. If that means a 5 minutes run/walk in place is what you can do, then do it. Better to grab that 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there and get something done than to hold out for a walk that might not happen and miss all the activity for the day. And if you get that walk, you're out ahead of the game because you got the walk as well as all those little 5 minute sessions :) Life is not a race, it is a marathon and we just need to pace it out sometimes. And no, we are not disgusted/frustrated/upset with you... you are holding your own. It may not be a regular loss but you are still here, still trying and not back where you were (like I almost ended up being). Hang in there and get thru this tough time one step at a time, one day at a time.

Lois, good luck with all you have planned for this upcoming week. Sounds like you have a lot going on and doing the best you can. You amaze me with all the steps you are putting in in spite of the challenges. Totally understand your MIL waiting for you to come home before she eats. My mom does the same thing (in spite of the fact she's diabetic and shouldn't be waiting). I think it must be partly a generation thing and don't know that there's an answer for it. I will have a made ahead meal ready where all she has to do is put it in the microwave and she will still wait... all I can figure is that she's used to eating alone all the time and enjoys having company while she eats. And I think she is trying to give me company while I eat by waiting, but I have already eaten so then she gets discouraged. Sometimes calling her to let her know I'm eating and to ask if she's eating too helps... at least then she has a better feel that we are eating "together", if that makes any sense.

Sheesh, congrats on this newest little expected one. Sorry your dil is having challenges with this pregnancy and hope it will all work out well. Lots of family stuff going on for you. I'm hoping for some family stuff at the end of this month, which means I need to get off of here and take advantage of the opportunity to get some cleaning done :) Laundry is on the last load, Yahoo!~

Cheryl, Kelly, hang in there with your steps. You both are doing so well that way. Better than me :)
Sorry to have missed stuff I should have responded to but I really have GOT to get moving before my get up and go gets up and is gone! Have a good 4th everyone, and be smart with your choices...
