Does any one else use this swim stroke?

So when I swim laps I typically use the backstroke and the freestyle stroke. Occasionally I will get in the position of a backstroke but instead of using my arms I kick my legs like a bicycle situp from one end to the other, while keeping my core tight. This has helped me alot with strengthening my core. And it gives my arms a break every now and then. Does any one else do this at all? I have been doing this for years and yet I can find out if its an actual stroke or any information about what muscles I am working when doing it.

Bicycle situp? So like Knee raised all the way up to hip level? Can't say I do anything like that ...don't your hips sink way down?0

That has to be a great ab workout.....0

Having a hard time visualizing this but it sounds like a version of the Whip kick that is used for Breast Stroke.
If you want a good AB workout do the Dolphin kick ( with or without flippers ) while on your back.0 -
Sounds similar to a move the physical therapist had me doing when I was recovering from ankle surgery--only I did it vertically like treading water. Might try it on my back!0
