Years ago I had great success with WATP but no more VCR to play the the tapes on. Ordered a DVD for delivery tomorrow. I am hoping the 18 1 mile walk will be doable. I also ordered two 2 lb weight balls. I think the video uses 1 lb weights but that's okay.
My goal is to walk 12 Leslie miles by July 31.
Susan do not worry about being out of shape as we all started there at one point! I certainly did not wake up one morning and walk 5 miles! :laugh: You will get in better shape every day and if you can't do 1 mile yet, do a quarter or half mile and then each day, do a little more. Soon, you will be racking up the miles. There is no rush, but you will be surprised how fast your body will adjust if you gently "encourage it" . Just "walk walk walk walk walk" as Leslie says and we will be here to encourage you all the way!! Welcome to our group of walkers!

Thank you for the encouragement zichab. I couldn't get the DVD to play but found the video on GIAIAM TV. I was able to finish it. Only used the weights for a few minutes but that's fine. I was able to finish even if a sweaty mess!!

Woo Hoo!!! Good for you Susan :drinker: I did not use weights at all until I could do at last 3 of Leslie's miles so you are ahead of where I was in the beginning already! Being a sweaty mess is wonderful isn't it!!!!! I love my after workout shower! Keep walking strong!0 -

Lots of good walking this week. I even went on a moderate hike for 60 minutes, thank goodness for a little bit of cloud cover and a quick flowing river next to the path. One year ago I would never have been able to hike that far but thanks to Leslie's fitness walking I did it!! 16/400

I was looking forward to mile 5 - the abs one but it really was just a regular WATP mile - she just recommended you think about the abs while doing the workout, so that was a bit disappointing but I thought overall it was a great workout particularly mile 3 - the cardio one which has you boosting was the toughest IMHO0 -

I did the Leslie WATP Get Up and Go 1 mile. Over 2000 Fitbit steps!! 10 miles to go this month. I am so happy I am moving.
A friend's car is broken. She's been walking to work. I am going to walk her there 2 times this week. Not sure of the distance but she said it's 985 steps door to door. There's a steep Hill but is short so hoping I can do it.0 -
